Best pitching machine for high school level?

Need it to throw 95mph.

Fastball, curve slider.

Indoor and outdoor use.

Uses baseballs.

Here is a link to some good ones. Not sure why you want it to deliver up to 95mph? I coached Division 1 High School for over 10 years, it is extremely rare to see that kind of velocity. Good luck

Might be 3 kids in the whole state that even throw in the 90s. We have a local program that cranks up their machines all year for the boys. You better have a pitcher that can place the ball and throw junk cause they can hit the fast ball.

Any pitching machine that's throwing 85 is almost unhittable. You don't have the ability to see the pitchers arm motion so when the ball comes out of the machine it's tougher to pick up because of it. Hitting a ball at 85 from a machine is every bit as tough as 95 from a pitcher. Again, as someone said, why in the world would you want 95 anyway? Is your HS team going to have a game against the Indians? 95% of the kids who see a pitch that fast from a maching will back away....the 5% who do stand in won't touch it.

IVL in Wadsworth has a nice computerized simulator screen of a pitcher in a wind-up in front of what must be a 3 wheel JUGS machine. The ball comes out of a hole where the pitcher's hand "releases". An operator seated behind the batter outside the cage can call for any number of pitches, and the computer adjusts the speed of the wheels to create the pitch. It's pretty cool. "Pro Batter" is the name, I think.

I've seen Iron Mike set-ups that have several plate locations - the closer to the machine, the higher the simulated "speed" - to limit the amount of time that the batter has to react to the pitch. When the arm of the Iron Mike is visible to the hitter as it loads, one gets a sense of a delivery for timing. No breaking balls, though.

Here's a pic of the user interface touch screen -

Good luck with your fund-raising efforts.....that's going to take a lot of Super Bowl squares, and side boards at your "Night at the Races" or whatever

PS - I wouldn't bother with the lesser "II" version. It's simply a screen for a fancy version of watching the Iron Mike arm load up.

It's awesome.

Behind the large screen on which the batter sees an image of a pitcher in his delivery is a 3-wheel JUGs or it's equivalent, firing the ball out of a hole that is at the virtual pitcher's release point. The computer adjusts the speeds of the three wheels and moves the machine slightly for location, seamlessly and at a normal pitcher's pace. The hitter sees or hears nothing that might tip him as to what is coming.

The pitchers and catchers enjoy the opportunity to mess with hitters, throwing all those pitches effectively. Nice teaching opportunity - especially for the modern tech-junkie kid that one might typically have a tough time holding the attention of....

Aside from the fact that I haven't seen it on the Fritz when I've taken a kid there, I can't really speak about reliability, but IVL has had theirs for a few years. If you catch John, one of the Joes, or Mark with a free minute, I'd guess they'd take the time to give you their thoughts - (330)388-9412
