St X Parents are Grounded!

Saw on the news where St X parents have been getting a little too rowdy at their tailgates to the point where the principle is shutting them down! Police are now going to be patrolling the tailgate to give out citations for those drinking. tisk tisk tisk bomber tuition payers. You would never catch any other school in the GCL enjoying a beer at a tailgate. wink wink.

I've been to some of those tailgate parties and seriously, some of these people drink way too much for a high school football game.

Oh whatever. This is freaking ridiculous. Hell, I've walked into Massillon carrying Captain and Diets before. Thank God Mrs. Arrington didn't catch me.

I find it funny that the principle had to step in and say something as a CYA position. Does Pope Francis have any insight???

And they are #1 in the state so who is to tell them what to do

Actually, it was the President, not the Principal ( not principle) who wrote the letter. And how many other schools have the same behavior from parents and alums, but nary a sound from the administration? Bravo to Fr. Howe; drinking has no place at high school games, even amongst adults. And that goes for the school I support, also.

Thanks. Hey, since the St. X fight song uses the word " unexcelled ," I thought "nary" might be apropos. In this case, Fr. Howe didn't want the Bombers playing in front of the Bombed. And he is right.

I agree 100% with you. We live in a town that has both a public and Catholic high school. They share the same stadium whose parking lot butts up against our property. The morning after their home games consists of me cleaning up the empty beer and wine bottles from my yard (the neighbors have the same problem). I have contacted school officials and the local po-po without any kind of action taken. If this is what HS football has come to, then I want nothing to do with it. Since when do you need to get wasted to watch little Johnny play football? In addition I have recommended that the local school board cease funding the local DARE program. What an absolute joke!!!!

Im sure that is what was said to spark this useless but funny showdown. Tailgates were fun but I do think they have become a bit more SEC then OHSAA. Moderation is the key but there are always some amateurs that ruin it for all.

Don't let a bomber get bombed!

Yes, I received my email "Important Information From St. Xavier High School" at 5:32 PM yesterday from the President of the school, Fr. Howe.
Personally, whether it's watching the Crooked Crudaders or the Iggy Mildcats up against my Suicide Bombers, it's always better with a cold adult beverage.
If you recall, JC's first miracle was turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. So if He thinks it's a good idea for a party, who am I to disagree!

Tailgates just got reinstated at X

They are going to have a quick sermon beginning at 5:00 followed by the passing of the donation basket which will continue until the lot is full.
The sermon will also be followed by communion and everyone taking communion
will then be allowed to share in the Holy Wine. wink wink

What kind of lush do you have to be to not be able to put the bottle down long enough to enjoy a boys high school football game? How sad.

Indeed, due to the new policy of no tailgating, all Bomber fans are invited to my estate in Indian Hill before the game. Please park your cars between my tennis courts and the new pool. May I suggest a game of polo in the afternoon for the guys, and if time permits, maybe a quick 18 holes at Kenwood Country Club. It's my understanding the ladies will spend the day shopping at Kenwood Towne Center to be followed by wine tasting at the country club.

Sounds like a new flash poll..........

A) In favor of tailgating at high school games

B) Opposed to tailgating at high school games

I'm going to have a drink before I decide........

Compromise.........

If your team won the previous week, tailgating is on.
If your team lost the previous week, no alcohol.

Moeller fans would not be drinking on most Friday nights!

That would hurt the economy on Montgomery rd. Moe fans use tailgating for medicinal purposes these days.

Moderators should require the word "nary" to be included in every post!
Such as.... "There's nary a man alive who would admit to living in Price Hill."
