You're going against Steve Specht. He's one of the best HS coaches in the country.

I gained a new level of respect for Coach Specht. The score could have been worse had Specht run up the score like he could have. He was substituting five players at a time to make sure all his seniors got to play in a GCLS game for the last time.

Not sure what you mean by La Salle not subbing. The stat sheet shows 20 guys playing defense for La Salle record some kind of stat for tackling.

They did. after a couple of failed drives and fumbles, Mac saw the handwriting and substituted freely. You only get so many tries with a running clock.

BTW, how did the JV's do. I know the LS freshman beat the X frosh

BIG QUESTION AFTER LS REGROUPS AND WINS STATE: WILL MAC LEAVE WHEN MOELLER'S HC JOB OPENS UP?

GO LANCERS

If Mac does leave when the Moeller job opens- does lasalle hire internally or look to bring a new name in? This will be the fourth coach in six years.

2003-2012 Tom Grippa went 59-44 with three playoff appearances losing at Colerain in 2003, losing at St. Xavier in 2004, losing at La Salle to St. Xavier in 2010. Now at Milford in first year with 6-1 record sitting at #4 in R4 Harbins

2013-2014 Nate Moore went 17-8 in two years (3-7 & 14-1) and won the DII State Title in 2014. Now at Massillon Washington with a 5-2 record sitting at #3 in the R7 Harbin rankings.

2015-2016 Jim Hilvert went 26-4 in two years (13-2 & 13-2) and won two DII state titles. Came to La Salle from DIII college team and went back to the college ranks.

2017 Pat McLaughlin in his first year at La Salle. Now 5-2 sitting in first place in the R8 Harbin rankings.

SVSM won't give La Salle a return game

I thought incorrectly that La Salle - St. Vincent-St. Mary would be a two year deal with SVSM playing at La Salle next year. I went up to La Salle to buy my ticket and was told by a coach that they are not giving La Salle a return game next year.

I can hear the conversation now. Yes, we will play you but it's got to be at our place, and we won't go down to your place for a return game the following year.

Wasn't this week supposed to be a trip to Ryle? I wonder why that was cancelled.

They did the same thing to Winton Woods. Played in Akron last season but no game in Cincinnati this season.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for LaSalle to be treated like the rest of the GCL-S when it comes to scheduling.

100% yes. Why wouldn't he? A better gig, a moe graduate, he left princeton after 1 year-why not leave La Salle after 1 like all the other stone steppers that were before him (Moore, Hilvert) ?

That Ed's frosh team also lost to Lorain, played Chardon to a titanic 0-0 final, and lost to Padua 21-6, who Hoban beat 42-14. They're not very good.

Maybe La Salle should schedule St. Edward's in a home and away series for 2019 and 2020 when those kids will be juniors and seniors. Unlike SVSM, St. Eds is not afraid to go to Cincy to play.

So St Ed's brought their B team to play St V & Hoban? Or are you saying that the St Ed's 2 teams are watered down to make both teams even?

I count 9 different post's that Starstoshine commented on in the past 10 days. That's what yappi is for isn't it? Everyone trolls different threads and finds issues or comments that interest them.

Then you have the typical Delmedico/Hoban slam that is predictable. Yes we bought him a new inkwell and the checking account is full.

Went to SVSM and watched Winton Woods play there last year.
You LaSalle guys should go early.
It is right downtown close to many great spots to grab a bite and drink before the game.
Good tailgate lot if you want too.

On the home side and in one end zone there is an elevated area to stand an watch the game if you prefer but really close to the action all the way around the field.
Good place to watch a game I thought.

Oh great, let's turn this into another Hoban thread.

And for clarity's sake, troll means "make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them." Not everyone does that.

What's wrong with traveling to play a "D3 school?" Divisions go by enrollment. Not how good you are. Even with that said, SVSM has a great program. In fact, they are currently worth more second level computer points than Moeller, Elder, and West Clermont (all D1's) and not too far behind Colerain. It would be a solid win for La Salle on all fronts.

I doubt that anybody would have questioned La Salle if they would've made the same trip to Akron last year to play Hoban.

I realize that, I was referring to the one that St V played, which is supposedly the better of the two. The other team has apparently only played a few games.

I've been commenting on the LaSalle/St V game, which I find compelling. You showed up and felt the need to fill us all in on a freshman score vs Ed's, so I just provided a little perspective. Your green and gold glasses get a little foggy at times.
