Pickerington Central (6-1) @ Pickerington North (6-1)

ANOTHER huge matchup between these crosstown rivals. Tigers came into the season with a ton of hype, and they have, so far, not lived up to their potential (again). Pickerington North, on the other hand, has their do-everything QB back for another (FINAL) year. It seems like Jimmy has been there forever. Panthers have a new coach, but the transition has seemed smooth. They've definitely kept their train moving! I give Central and the size and strength edge, but the Panthers have a speed (and physicality) edge.

When the Panthers have the ball, I think Central will struggle to contain Weirick, but they will get a few int's as #2 has been prone to give up the TO this year. Other than Weirick, I don't think the Panthers will be able to run on the Tigers. They may get a few gadget plays on the ground, but I think the Panthers get their yardage through the air. I see North getting to 23 points for the game.

When the Tigers have the ball, I think the Panthers will struggle to stop Central's ground and pound run game (assuming they decide to utilize it). The Tigers, offensively, will show the same thing since the schools split. Power run game with strategically placed misdirection and play-action pass. They run to set up the pass, and Crenshaw has done as well as could be expected from a Sophomore QB. I don't think North has seen a team with as much size and strength as Central since maybe Centerville. I see Central scoring 24 points.

On special teams, both teams are fairly even except for one glaring weakness. The Panthers have had MAJOR FG/XP woes all season, and it's cost them one game already. I believe it happens again!

Tigers 24
Panthers 23

Here's to hoping for a clean, noncontraversial, game!

Go Tigers!

Big, big game. Should be fun.

Let me be the first to say it: Circle K.

I don't know where the northerners tailgate since "The Wine Guy" closed down. Probably Cardo's. Central is picking up it's game and has updated from Circle K to Combustion Brewery in Olde Picktown. Times are changing Lamebeau.

Hipsters and craft beers? Say it ain't so.

Either way, should be a great week in Picktown.

I think PLSD misses the boat on this week. Lots of opportunity for fund raising for schools/sports etc. Perhaps a for profit joint tail gate party....something.

I am stuck between Coffman and Davidson as I am a Dublin resident, and the Pick town game of the season. I think I am heading to Pickerington due to the magnitude of the game.

I was high on Central all season, but recently North has really swayed my opinion that they can't be denied top billing. I was very surprised that Central only topped Lancaster by 1 point. I am going with Jimmy Football by 10 points this Friday night.

I think they said 6,500 is capacity, so get there early and buy pre-sale tickets! As soon as they get to 6,500, they won't let anyone else in.

Tickets on sale starting today at Pickeringtonpanthers.org, Picktowncentral is correct, they are going to shut the doors once they hit their number of tickets although I heard it was 7,500, either way, it WILL be a sellout.

Now to the game: Its going to be a war. 2 great teams with so much at stake. North Defense has given up a grand total of 17 points in the past 4 games since they stubbed their toe at Centerville. Offense has scored 168 points in that time period, that is 168-17.

IMO this game comes down to the huge Central O line vs the incredible North D. I say that the D contains Crenshaw overall and dares him to throw. Central has used him primary as a runner, and been very effective.

On Offense, the edge is certainly with North. Jimmy Weirick will carry the Panthers in a hard fought battle and North will score late to win 21-7.

Hoping for a clean game on both sides. This is the battle of 256 and it should be Epic.

Go Panthers

I like Pickerington Central in this one, I think they're the much better team. That being said, I think that Pickerington North wins because they're a better football team. Central has a much better all around team and I think North wins because of it. I mean North has the better offense, defense, and special teams. Central is just better in all three aspects of the game. Neither team has any defense whatsoever, which is why I think Central wins and shows that they're the better team by losing 3-0.

Defense rules this game.
I'm looking for a 1-0 Pickerington win.

PN relies quite a bit on big strikes, but PC has DBs to limit that aspect of the game. PN gets a couple, but PC scores enough to win...21-17.

Extremely peculiar time keeping at North. Jimmy W. scrambles forever then runs and 4 sec. come off the clock. North gifted an extra play in 1rst half and scores a TD. Coach Sharrett was livid and rightfully so.

Sounds like this one was another close exciting game for the Tigers...two weeks in a row. Should win out and get a good home playoff game.

Awful clock operator! North's TO's and (lack of) kicker were the difference. I would say the Panther lack of depth and substitution also played a factor late in the game. Other than that, it was an extraordinary game! Very even.

Go Tigers!

Lancaster is very capable of controlling the clock and beating North.
