Scheduling ????

OK - Time for a rant...
I am absolutely amazed at the schedules some teams play.
Obviously there are league obligations, but what about the other 15 or so games a year?
Looking at SW Ohio, Mason, the Lakota's, Lebanon, and Greenville always look to play the best. As a result, in my opinion, they are always prepared for deep runs.
Every year, there are pretenders with 20 plus wins, who go out early in the playoffs.
Not picking on teams, but look at the schedules of both Miamisburg and Springboro. What a joke! The coaches an AD's should be ashamed!
Miamisburg is one of the best teams in the state yet they play NO ONE outside of the GWOC, ditto Springboro.
How are they preparing themselves for the postseason?

Teams are only going as far as their pitching takes them in the playoffs. Lebanon, Mason East and West have pretty good pitching and have the opportunity to win every contest and should do well post season.

Most teams lack one quality pitcher let alone two so playing a beast schedule for many teams can be more of a negative than a positive.

Teams should play a schedule that helps grow that team.

Its HS Softball so, just playing a schedule of yearly power houses honestly does not make the average HS team go any farther than their pitching will take them come playoff time. Just look at the past 5 or so years playoffs... I look back a few years and both teams stated by the OP were or would be just middle of the road teams in our league and they would have the same results come playoff time if they scheduled 4 or 5 more challenging games...
