It sure does look like Jackson will run away with the FED. I see Hoover lost to Hiland on Saturday and got shut out by Jackson a few days before. What is going on over there?

Going to be interesting who will be next in FED league. Green, Lake, GO,
Nothing is "going on over there". They've lost a couple tough games to quality opponents.

With road wins today over Strongsville (4-3) and Toledo St. Francis DeSales (9-5) Jackson is now 14-0 and has won 41 consecutive regular season games.

Just wow...
Always a very good sign to consistently win the one run games. That tells me something.

According to a tweet from Josh Weir of the Rep, today's Hoover win over Massillon (3-2) was the 1,000th win in program history.

Annual STA vs. CCC game slated for this Thursday at STA at 5:00 PM. Should be a good game, but I believe both teams are down a little bit this year. Anyone have any stats on the series, wins and losses over the years? STA has the bragging rights for football and basketball this year, will it be different on the diamond?

I hope the weather holds out, not looking good based on the forecast.

D1 Canton Sectionals, Records thru 4/25/17 (this is cutoff I believe to enter your record, voting begins Wednesday and should be announced Sunday the 30th)

Jackson 15-0 (1.000)
Green 12-1 (.923)
Massillon 12-5 (.705)
Louisville 13-6 (.684)
Hoover 9-6 (.600)
Dover 9-6 (.600)
Perry 10-7 (.588)
Wooster 8-6-1 (.571)
GlenOak 9-7 (.563)
Lake 6-13 (.316)
Mckinley 5-13 (.278)

Of course this does not mean the voting will go this way, but I would imagine Top 5 get a bye

Unofficially, CCC leads the diamond series 49-15-1. The series began in 1981. To my knowledge, STA did not field a baseball team prior to that year. Track and field has generally been the primary spring sport at STA, and they have plenty of trophies to prove it.

Is that just the Hoover years (1958-present), or does that also include the years as North Canton HS? North Canton HS didn't become Hoover until the fall of '57 when Greentown merged with North Canton. Regardless, that's a lot of wins.

Unofficially, I count 971 wins for Canton CC since 1946. There could be a few more because the school didn't do the greatest job of reporting all of its results to the papers in the old days, but I can only confirm 971 wins at this time. In the '40s and '50s, Canton CC generally didn't play baseball games until late April. Part of that was due to the fact that the ballfields were often unplayable in early spring, and the other part might have been due to spring football. Ohio once had spring football, but I can't remember how many years it lasted. Many schools wouldn't start spring sports until after spring football. Those schools would hastily field a team and maybe squeeze in a few tuneup games before the sectional tournament began.

Thanks Slip! True about track and field. Can you give us the last 10 years records on the diamond?
