Wishful thinking by Golden Dome. Hoban may have 2-3 more rings before you can say shillelagh!

Coach Wattley is an excellent coach and an even better man. I wish him nothing but the best, University of Akron got a really good coach. Whoever gets the St.V job is going to have big shoes to fill but they have a lot coming back. Good Luck to Coach Wattley moving forward!

You know, let's not... Otherwise this thread will go swirling down the drain like so many other Hoban threads.

Sure....because that's coming down the pipeline soon (we've only been hearing about it for 3 or 4 years)...

How will this effect the players that chose St V because of the coach. Now before you say it's about the school not the coach or that this isn't college football let's not act like it's not 2018 and families of exceptional athletes aren't picking schools based off meetings with coaches from private to public

My guess is that the depth of the impact will depend on how quickly they name a replacement and who that replacement is. This appears to be an amicable parting, or at least there is no apparent ill will. Players would be more upset IMO if a coach is forced out. That's not the case here. If they name a solid coach who can offer some stability to the program, then I think the players will be ready to get back to work.

There should be plenty of good candidates, some in house. I just hope that whoever they pick has a historical connection to the school. I think that helps in the long run.

Very true. In my last post, I should have used "continuity" rather than "stability".

I believe the applications are in from the Catholic grade schools already. The families can of course change their minds. There might be phone calls being made from Tyrell and staff to kids though to try to change their minds. If that's permitted.

Will Wattley keep his day job in the high school?

This might actually keep some of the inner city kids at their home schools. Would love to see the city series great again. St V has been stealing kids since the 90s.

I would say it would be the other way around. Parents calling Hoban.

Laughable coming from a Hoban fan whose school is on probation for stealing kids.

Quite the contrary. Was in the stands in 2015 cheering for Hobanís girls soccer team in the state championship game. Have also cheered on their baseball and basketball teams as I have friends who have kids on those teams. Have many many friends at Hoban.

Not going to let someone take a cheap shot at St V though when his own school is the one on probation.

Back to who will be the new coach...

Lets get back to original question...
Rumor from several sources that Boarman offered position back and declined.
Heard Rotsky has interview this weekend.
Also, heard Dennison was interested.

Not a snowball's chance in hell of it happening, but it would give the Akron privates two of the top recruiters in the state.

St V has ripped 120 or 48% from the grasp of their screaming parents and Hoban has trafficked 136 or 42% of the children in the dead of night without parental consent. This seems to be a major problem in Cleveland. Edís and Benny are the best recruiters by actual numbers and percentage. The poor children in Cleveland never stood a chance.
Classic!!!!!

Rotski and STVM

Why is there not a snowball's chance, Clark G? STVM is sick and tired of doing things the right way and losing to that other school on the East side of town? Might be time to dig in the purse and find the coin to pay a big time coach who knows how to win!

Things won't change until STVM gets rid of Tom Carone. Behind the scenes he is running the school into the ground and finally people are starting to notice (with the exception of the obvious archaic boosters and old guard who think Eddie Wentz or Frank Stams should be the new coach). He is broke. Can't pay outstanding bills to vendors let alone pay an outside football coach. Take a look at his enrollment over the past 3 years. He is Hobans best friend rite now.

St v can't afford Rotsky.

Bucks fan. Whoa boy! Hold back on Tom Carone! The Trustees run the school and believe me the coffers aren't empty.
