Whoa man what a hangover!

One hell of a bash at the tailgate last night....party!

Got hazy after the game though.

I just told the JV bus driver to turn the dang bus off til they are ready to leave for their game...too much racket!

I slept on the ground in a muddy parking lot....what school am I at anyway?

Can someone please come give me a ride home?

Pope you got me bro.....?

your poll results may also be off a bit due to starting out with the thread and poll having different titles. poll "View Poll Results: Should tailgating be permitted before high school games?" thread " Should tailgating with alcohol be permitted before high school games?"

Which is exactly why there is a margin of error of 3% with these poll results.

The system is rigged…

While it may not be illegal it does go against the guidelines set

Maybe there is just more press but it seems like there has been an increase in alcohol related incidents at high schools/colleges with student/athletes.

I see no problem with this as long as the school supports it, meaning it is not breaking any school rule. In my travels I find there are blank holes at every game and, I will guess more times than not, beer or whatever is not the reason as to why, they act like this.

people really still say "bro?" Thought they'd all been b-slapped back into the basement. I thought the only ones left doing that were 12 year old boys and nerdy kids trying to act cool in high school?

Society never progresses.

Drinking before going to a high school game, seems a bit desperate to me. But I can see it being the norm other places. Maybe there's nothing else to do. Having a beer before a game doesn't seem like a big deal, I just don't know many people that have A beer. It isn't permitted in our public parks or school grounds so I don't know, hire a lawn?

I'm guessing there were a few misfits causing a problem at St. X. So in typical fashion they go after all instead of the irresponsible few( I don't mean this just at St. X. It's the norm now, instead of dealing with the few misfits organizations tend to punish everyone). I say punish the irresponsible ones and let everyone else enjoy themselves.

Both St Edward and St Ignatius play at stadiums right by bars. Even so, there are also tailgates with beer flowing. I think the local cops look the other way. If that's cleaned up I hadn't noticed. No problem with it.

never understood the desire to get wasted before a high school football game but then again im not an alcoholic so...

they even moved up the kickoff in many places so you have more time to go out after the game.

Think about it. The guy felt that going 8 hours without a drink was quite an achievement.

But then....asking an admitted and very proud lush such as you to grasp the idiocy of this thinking is probably not a good idea.

If alcohol isn't permitted on the premises during the school day, why should it be permitted at a school-sponsored event on school property? I understand private schools have fewer constraints, and maybe would like to generate some additional revenue for games by getting a permit and selling from a tap out in the parking lot, but come on.

Folks should take a conservative approach and just not bring alcohol to high school games, even for parking lot tailgates. There's no real reason to. You can always have a few beers at Roosters or BW3 afterward.

I don't think anybody is advocating getting wasted. The responsible consumption of alcohol is a part of many social and family events.

Do you not see sarcasm and satiric tones in ANY of these posts? And do you really think I'm a "very proud lush"? If so, lonely boy you are more dense than even I thought. And that is saying a lot because I think you're a moron.

"never understood the desire to get wasted before a high school football game but then again I'm not an alcoholic so"...?????????

And this is where we will agree to disagree. I would respectfully submit that the overwhelming majority of fans tailgating before high school games are not "getting wasted". In fact, I've been to dozens of tailgate gatherings before high school football games, and without exception, it went as follows... friends and family members sharing food, drinks (cokes, water, beer, etc) some good natured ribbing and lots of laughter. I've never seen anyone "wasted" though I'm not saying there aren't a few idiots out there. With few exceptions, I think the high school tailgates tend to be "family friendly". Deal with the exceptions!

Please give one good reason why alcohol should be a part of any game played by and for children?

It a BS topic . Reflects much of today's toxic political environment . Drinking at a high school game ? Sad commentary.

LOL. I guess this positions it better than anything I've seen thus far. Of course the head prude is Mr. No-Life Mackinbiner who will now have some idiotic retort that makes sense only to him.
