Dover @ Zanesville

This is a critical game for Dover as are all the remaining games in order to win the ECOL and have any shot at the playoffs.
Dover off of an easy win over Cambridge while resting several starters,I am sure all able bodied will play this week.
Zanesville hung with phila for a while before losing,Dover can knock them out of contention for the title with a win.

Dover wins this one easily. Dover-Philly should be a slobberknocker.

Agreed..Zville certainly not the typical team last two years. Cambridge should have beaten them so Dover will not have a problem.

The Blue Devils have won the games they were expected to win and have lost the games they were expected to lose, with Cambridge being the only uncertainty. Ultimately, Zanesville rallied late in the 4th quarter to eke out a win over Cambridge. Conversely, Dover vs. Cambridge was a total mismatch so much so, it was almost painful to watch. I think Dover's got this: 42-17.

I look for Dover to win this one comfortably. Build on last weeks game and hoping the types of teams we played in our non-conference schedule prepare us for the rest of the season and build up to week 10. Hopefully, we are able to get some of our injured players healthy and back on the field. Doubt Hess plays.

Dover was humiliated on the last trip to Zville, time to turn it up another notch.

Heck, Dover hasn't won a game at Zanesville since 2011!

Sulsberger Memorial Stadium is very nice, but I'll never forget the night Dover played Licking Valley there, in the 2008 Regional Finals. The weather was awful. Between the wind, the sleet, and the bitter cold, the stadium lights went out twice! Although it was an exciting game, the two half-hour delays, the weather, and LV's Storm Klein made for a long night. Fortunately, Friday's weather in Zanesville is supposed to be clear and 65-70 degrees.

Zanesville's JV beat Phila last Saturday, while Phila's freshmen barely beat Zanesville. So, I'll be interested to see how Dover's freshmen stack up against Zanesville's, at tonight's home game.

GO DOVER

Zanesvilles RB Martin got hurt early vs NP and did not return. The backup is a shifty back but doesn't run as hard as Martin.

This game depends on Zanesvilles defense. Many struggle defending the tornadoes. Cambridge is definitely one of them.

Tonight, Zanesville's freshmen struggled, too. Final score: Dover 44, Zanesville 12.

The Blue Devils made some nice plays, though, and I was impressed by a few of their players.

I think that power outage aided Dover by delaying the game, the fierce wind early on pretty much eliminated the long pass but as time went by the wind and sleet calmed down and Dover came back strong to tie the game before the human Storm took over. Ironically they later found out the power outage was Dovers fault,a heater being used to keep the footballs warm and dry was kicking a breaker..

This was a good albeit uncharacteristic showing by Dover as they displayed an impressive running game,it was power football we have not seen in a long while also pretty nifty we did it minus several starters. If this is what the offense is gonna look like- look out if Hess gets healthy. Defense gave up some yards and that is disturbing but the red zone defense was outstanding.
I think it was the best game played to date I don't remember any turnovers and cleaned up some of the silly penalties.

I heard 9 players sat out? 6-7 starters? Hess will be back vs Np healthy.

Sexton was out, too. With so many starters not playing tonight, the Folkerts did a great job of stepping up. I was especially impressed with Kyler's rushing performance. At first, I was a little frustrated Dover had to settle for two field goals as their first scores, especially when Zanesville briefly took the lead at 7-6. However, that only seemed to motivate Dover's offense, as they played well for the remainder of the game.

I enjoyed Kyler's YAC yardage. Zanesville tackling looked like ours in some previous weeks. We seem to be hitting better. JV's had pads cracking today. 50-0 Dover. Our future looks bright

Dover JV team has 1 loss to Steubenville, then played them again last week when Cambridge did not want to play. Dover won 36-6 the loss was by 8.
They have put a serious hurt on everyone else.

I heard rumors Marietta JV may be throwing in the towel. We may need to pick up another game. Does anyone know for sure ?? I still think Dover vs NP JV should be played the week before the varsity game. The freshmen do it.

I would be more suprised if Marietta played, every time they need to come to Dover, they take a pass. Maybe Dover can set up a rubber match with Steubenville.

According to Cambridge's Facebook page, their JV game vs. Marietta is still on for tonight. Last time Marietta had a Monday game scheduled before a Saturday game, the Sat. game was supposed to be against Phila. According to Phila's website, it looks like Marietta cancelled because Phila instead played Louisville that Saturday. Also, according to Marietta's website, it looks like Marietta's freshmen have cancelled 3 out of 3 of their scheduled games, since playing Zanesville on August 31st.

So, it doesn't look promising that the Dover vs. Marietta JV game will be played this Saturday.

Would be nice to get the D-P JV game scheduled for this Saturday. Phila is scheduled to play Cambridge this Saturday; however, Cambridge bailed on Dover. So, you never know ...

Cambridge bailed on Dover because we had 10 kids out on Fri and the subs had to play alot on Fri. Those players are now back so we plan to play NP and Marietta today.

Okay. So, no D-P JV game this Saturday.

Good luck tonight and Saturday!

No offense towards Cambridge but I am glad Dover played Steubenville instead and I hope they get a good match up for this week. It was 42-0 at the half with Zville, I would much rather be challenged and I doubt Marietta would put up much of a fight if they did show up.
