Something stinks to high heaven with this situation.

AAU has turned into a hydra-type monster. I'm not sure how you could make matters worse, but if anyone can, it's the NCAA.

Heard from an NBA friend that there is a good possibility of a “draft and follow” scenario where kids may be drafted out of HS but retain college eligibility until the NBA team decides they are ready.

As much as they try to get the bad actors out of basketball, it's never going to work. There are too many people with too much money that will always get next to the next big thing.

Sure looks like the equivalent of a hostile takeover of a corporation. AAU emerges as the vehicle to display top talent to college recruiters and now because a few bad actors are attaching themselves to the process a committee is going to write laws that intend to subvert the authority of an armature asdociation?

That's worked well enough in hockey. Of course that's a little different because unlike basketball there's an existing junior league structure providing an alternative to college.

The bad actors aren't new.

FBI interest in the situation, on the other hand....

Where does the source of this information come from?
Nominating 35 players in 4 regions, really? There are over 300 NCAA D1 schools, and you are only going to showcase 140.

Why would they change the process in July and not April? If you shrink the process instead of opening it up, you create more exclusiveness, which makes for pay to play situations to exist.

Much of this makes no sense.

I do believe changes need to be made but let's get parents whose children were in the past process and college coaches involved.

Why change any of it? It just seems like NCAA wants all the money can't just be happy with all the millions they make now
