Hoban QB 2017

For those Hoban followers wondering about the QB position this fall, here's the kid likely to be under center.

Looks pretty talented to the naked eye, but a tough spot for a freshman to step into. He'll have really good players around him, but that week 1 matchup is pretty daunting for your first varsity start, to say the least.

You may be wrong on this one. They have a senior who has a pretty good arm. If politics don't get too involved he will probably be your starter.

That may happen, they might prefer to play the senior if he shows in camp that's he capable. He'll have to improve immensely from what he showed on his JV snaps last year. The initial plan seemed to be to move their sophomore FS back to QB where he played as a freshman, but he's so valuable on D and is now being recruited as a FS, so he's not moving.

I think he's gotten to be friends with Danny Clark from attending camps the past 2 seasons. Clark recently tweeted he was looking forward to seeing his boy line up as a freshman varsity starter for the Knights this year.

He is a decent athlete, but his film is deceiving because he is much older than the kids he is playing against. He was homeschooled then repeated 8th at Fitch. He really should be going into his Soph or Jr year. His dad's original plan was Fitch for a year or two then St. Eds. He does work hard and is getting some training possible this offseason but it will be interesting to see how he handles the big step up in competition. Self assurance won't be a problem, kid is as cocky as they come.

If this kid can throw a spiral Hoban will have upgraded the QB position.

I just hope they didn't take lunch to him or approach him in his school. That could cause years and years of Yappi drivel with little or no consequences to the program.

An eighth grader with an 18 minute video? Give me a break dad.

Harrycrane is an unknown quantity at this point
Tough spot for a Frosh IF he is really a Frosh , guessing he is a bit older than the " Normal " HOLD BACK " Frosh , looks pretty mature, probably won't look a whole lot different physically in a few years .

Hoban's passing game would be very weak next year with a freshmen at QB that can't throw a ball over 35 yards in the air. Most HS DBs would be feasting on those passes.

I only watched just over three minutes of his highlight and the qb is impressive considering the level he's playing at.....but man those receivers are good! Especially little number 13!

#13 was phenomenal, as for the QB we shall see. He's a big fish in a small pond right now, next year will be quite different.

Hopefully the plan now is to keep him at Hoban rather than move him on to ST. Ed' s. I know the in vogue thing to do is to continually be on the lookout for supposedly greener pastures, but there is a lot to be said for stability for a young man, too.

A bit off topic but have to ask so Irish set me straight. Did Dom Davis start as a Frosh? I always thought that kid was the most underrated, or one of the most underrated, QB's when he played. Kid was a tough competitor and produced. Even though mostly Hobanite supporter, I liked watching him play.

Unless your dad is a division 1 football coach, be stupid to play at a little school like Hoban if St Ed or St Ignatius comes calling. Idk what their recruiting depth chart looks like now

I don't believe Dom started until he was a junior. Most of the St V fans said the Lindsay kid was the first one to start as a freshman at QB for the Irish.
