Coshocton D-3 District Rankings (off season #3)

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

I started moving wrestlers up and down from their previous yearís weights. The new weights are partially based off of where theyíve been wrestling in the off season, though a lot of it is pure guesswork at this time.
Please let me know if anyone has inside information about new weights, schools, or wrestlers that they think should be added.

Iíve tried shifting the wrestlers around from schools that changed divisions. Please let me know if any are wrong, or if Iím forgetting any schools/wrestlers.

* = unsure about participation

-The schools of the incoming freshmen are based off of the previous Yappi thread. Please let me know if any are wrong or have changed.

Guthrie navigated a dense field at this district to qualify for the state tournament last season. He beat returning state qualifier Jordan Hoselton in the district quarters and then bested David Staten to reach his first district finals.
Guthrie finished a bout shy of placement in Columbus after posting a 10-6 win over J.P. Hlifka in his first consolation bout.

Iím glad to see that Dunn is expected to make his return this year after missing the majority of last season.
He qualified for the state tournament as a sophomore in 2016, pinning all 3 opponents that he faced at the sectional tournament and another 3 foes at the district tournament including returning state qualifier Trenton Bradbury in his go-to-state bout.

McCollister had a very impressive sophomore season last year, highlighted by a 3rd place finish at Brecksville where he beat Michigan state finalist Elijah Boulton 3-1 in the consolation finals.

1. Nelsonville-York
2. Northmor
3. Bridgeport
4. Martins Ferry
5. West Jefferson
6. Coshocton
7. River Valley
8. Barnesville/Edison

Itíll be interesting to see how high Nelsonville-York can climb at the state tournament. They return 4 state placers and another 2 state qualifiers including the Yingers, McCollister, and the ever dangerous Speelman who all have state finalist potential.

Coshocton has the potential to churn out 2-3 district champs if they continue to improve. Brink has already beaten Yinger, and wrestlers like Guthrie and Barrick could find themselves at the top of the district podium by seasonís end.

Edison feels like a team that could climb in the rankings as the year progresses. I believe they add another Pappas this season, and they have wrestlers like Mathews and Torres who are certainly capable of outperforming their current ranking.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page, Inside the Circle, the OVAC wrestling website, and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.
