I'm not encouraging litigation, but your pal asked a question about "legally binding contracts". Contracts (like anything legal) are ultimately enforced by lawsuits.

It's a jake move to cancel on a team when you owe them a home game.

I agree, though I don't think that, practically, there's much you can do about it.

The other problem...sue someone, they'll never play you again.
I am aware of the ways to enforce a contract, but thanks for the brief bar prep lesson anyway. I just wasn't sure of what the custom in the high school venue was for scheduling games, nor was I aware that the OHSAA actually provided a standard form contract.

All games have contracts and I believe sent to OHSAA for inclusion in the computer points.

It used to be that if you did want to back out you'd help them find a replacement opponent.

Why not schedule Cincinnati LaSalle in one of those open spots and officially join the GCL? St. Eds already plays Elder, St. X and Moeller annually.

Worst freshman class in a decade they lost 4 or 5 games and have one player that could play next year and its so highly unlikely its absurd Like I can't believe you think defensive linemen might play? Render Lally and Kuhar are STUDS the linebackers are strong in both the class of 2012 and 2013 and Quincy Jones and Chris Connors are not gonna be beat out by two sophomores and wait you think theres room for a tackle with 6'6'' 310 kalis and 6'7'' 275 Sean Conolly are you serious? This is all on top of the fact that this years freshman class was godawful

btw this quarterback talk is ridiculous Ryan Fallow will definitely not start Jack Walz will most definitely not start and I'm laughing that someone thinks it will be Myles Hamilton. Henry Hilow will be the starting quarterback no to even discuss this. I'm being honest he is a god in his teammates eyes and his coaches he'll get the nod, he probably already has for leadership purposes

The class of 2013 at Ed isn't quite as good as the one on the corner of W 30th and Lorain.

Conolly although being 6'7 275 he is not on the ability radar as any of the current lineman. He needs to have a massive off season to be even in the same ballpark as current lineman. Dont let the size fool you.

I agree but either way if he cant perform Sam Grants moving in to play tackle Joe Locchvio plays tackle and they find someone to play guard... Kuhar maybe?... it doesnt really matter Conolly will most likely start and if he doesnt i can guarantee it wont be a sophmore.

Kuhar going both ways is a bad idea. With the schedule they play, its not wise to use him like that. You increase his chances of injury. Teams that used two way players this past year in the trenches showed at this level you will get gassed by 4 quarter. Grant needs about 20 pounds to play tackle full time and I'm not sure he will take that move to well. Your right that Conolly will play but for how long. He gets hurt a lot and like i said he needs to have a change in his preparation for this next season. He may be a spot player or a player watching in street clothes from his injuries that always seem to plague him. Then again this offense will be very different than this past years. Alot more zone blocking and pass oriented plays. You might see Orlosky move to left side to even out the line. Got to be able to play left and right guard at next level or your really not worth anything.

So to recap...

Jackson - WVU
Mogus - Northwestern
Rivera - Penn
Kallis - OSU
Orlasky - Senior to be with Div. 1 potential

Yeah I would say that's the best line we have seen come through St. Ed's.

Sorry if i missed it earlier after a hundred and some posts, but what is the Eagle schedule looking like as of now. I did catch up to the part of De Sales dropping off (which surprises me.) i highly doubt Mooney will do the same. For a D III school they really play anyone anytime. Thing with them as someone posted they're usually competetive, and when they're hot, lookout because they'll be your worst nightmare no matter what division. Cards were down a little this year but watch out. And No I'm Not A Mooney Guy.

The offers keep piling up for last years guys

Terrell Bates picked up a Kent State offer as well as an offer from Notre Dame of Ohio.

Phil Smith-Verbal to Brown

Trent Rivera-Verbal to Penn

Kyle Kalis- Verbal to Ohio State

Geoff Mogus- Verbal to Northwestern

Avery Bailey- Verbal to Ball State

Robbie Coury- Offers from Air Force, Kent State and Yale

Deonte Gibson- Re-Opened his recruitment after Pitt fired Wanstedt, offers from Michigan State, Stanford, Northwestern, among others. Looks like he is Northwestern bound

Don Palov- Offer from Notre Dame of Ohio

Brandon Jackson- Verbal to West Virginia

Sam Grant- Offer from Toledo

Tyler Orlosky- Drawing High DI interest.

Greg Kuhar- High DI interest for wrestling.

I wouldn't be shocked to see either of the McManamon's pick up an offer. The PD article hinted that Shane was going to be headed to play at Cornell.

Then of course there is Burke, he doesn't have great measurables, but I would think someone would give that kid a shot somewhere. I don't know though.

I had updated this on page four last week with the Kent and Toledo offers.

Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern!!! Is it possible that this senior class is better in the classroom than they were on the football field? Terrific job by these young men!

According to there state title and undefeated season your answer is no! Last i checked this team was very good on the field. This past senior class went undefeated as freshman,JV and varsity. i think better players as a whole instead of of a few so called all stars. Unlike this next years team, who are getting the benefits from recruiters because of the spotlight of this past years season. Some of these senior players could have picked up bigger schools if the previous years football teams weren't so bad. Most of the recruiters dont have time to deal with the scrub teams. They search the hot teams or playoff teams.
