Steinkeller's selection is pretty good and not really that expensive either. I got the full liter there and it was only like 11 bucks. Spaten (lager) is probably the best german beer available in the US, and Pilsner Urquell (czech) is good too. I know they sell Urquell at Kroger

Find a tap. Find a tub. Standard 1/2 keg of the mean green Genny Cream was $38 out the door at John's Beverage up in Maple Hts. Never a hint of being carded. Quietly yahoo a bunch of ice out of the back ice machine at the L&K Motel. Good times.

Also an incredible array of hot sauces, a huge bulk olive bar, a block of cheese that weighs as much as a volkswagen, a pretty good bathroom joke, and some goofy soundtrack all the way out in the parking lot. Among other things. Cool place.

Grew up on the usual water beers from coors, bud and Miller.
I rarely have more than a couple beers any given night, so I generally like higher abv beers like ipas or imperial stouts. Mainstays are rhineghist truth, victory hop ranch, and dogfishhead 60-90 min, but I'll rotate whatever I see that looks interesting.

True. I'll also throw a plug in for Cappy's in Loveland and Dutch's in Hyde Park. Love stopping at Cappy's on the bike trail for a beer (will have to try the new brewery, Narrow Path, that recently opened off the trail as well.

I used to drink Milwaukee's best back in high school and college. After that I realized that I didn't really like beer. If I do drink beer, it's got to be something that tastes like more than just flavored water. I had some T.O.R.I.S. and B.O.R.I.S. Imperial Stout from Hoppin Frog over the weekend.

A beer I forgot to mentio was a regional beer I started drinking when I was in Minnesota for six months while my wife was getting treatment at the Mayo Clinic. It's a wheat beer brewed in Wisconsin, named Lenniekegel (sp?). Quite tasty but not available as far as I can tell in Arizona.

High School - Miller, Little Kings, Mickey's Big Mouth
College - Old Mil Light, Schaefer Light
Today - Blue Moon, any good Hefeweizen or other wheat beer
Late comer to the Truth party - recently discovered it, and it's on permanent rotation.

Hop Juju used to be my favorite IPA until this year. Streetside's Suh, Brah? has supplanted that. It was limited in release, but if you find any, can or on tap, try it. It's Cincy's best efforts at the NE IPA style and it's delicious.

Have you heard of/tried any of Terrapin's beers yet? Out of Athens, GA. Madtree had some of their beer when they opened up the new location. Personally like the Hopsecutioner, it's an American IPA.

I'm bummed about that. They were building it up while I was still out that was frequently. Naturally, I don't go there anymore once it was completed but I did stop by before going to a friend's for the draft on Thursday. Really cool idea they have going on there. Not sure I necessarily want to hang out at a Marathon to drink some beers but it's still a cool idea and i like that they sell growlers.

They are actually adding a patio out back. You can enjoy a beer while watching everyone go through the drive-thru.
If you fill your growler on Kill the Keg night, you can get a 64oz full of Founders All Day IPA for $8. It isn't the best, but certainly more sessionable than higher ABV beers. Plus, it beats pounding Bud Lights.

I had the displeasure of meeting Mickey's Big Mouths once in high school. Once. It didn't end well for me. Never again.

Now that wouldn't be too bad. When I went in though there were people standing at one of those bar tables right in front of the beer coolers. Kinda awkward while looking for the beer I wanted. Btw, I recommended it to e_p, but I know they have the Hopsecutioner there if you ever want to try something new. I think it's about 7%.

I've had Terrapin Hopsecutioner, that's a solid IPA. I don't get over to white oak often, but I'll look it up when I do.

If you don't know which Marathon, it's the one between Crossroads and St. James.

Back in the 70s when you could slide the clerk a 5 to buy beer or give a a Drunk a few beears out of the beers that were cheap or on sale were the ones we drank. Weidaman has to be one of the natiest beers I ever tasted as a kid. Little Kings were the in thing because they came in a case and you could fit a bunch in the trunk of a 98 Olds
Other Beers I drank as a youth
PBR
Bud
Miller
Rolling Rock
Mickeys with the Wide top
Schlitz
Strohs
Iron City
Old Style
As an Adult after living in Germany for a couple years it was hard to drink American Beer again because like another poster said he taste too watered down. Drinking a Budweiser from Czechslavokia was like 12% Alchohol. Also the time time I tried Guiness. I hated it the first one I drank, but it grew on me.

Leinenkugel's makes some decent stuff. I'm not sure how much they distribute outside of the Great Lakes. My roommate from Chicago raved about them in college. I never saw it sold in Ohio until maybe 7 or 8 years ago. The same was true of Yuengling that all my college buddies from PA used to rave about. They didn't distribute to NE Ohio until maybe 6-8 years ago.

Its leinenkugel. It's pretty good. I dated a girl back in the day who grew up in lake city Minnesota. Pretty close to that brewery in Wisconsin

If anyone in Cincy sees it, give March First a try. One of my best friends started the brewery with one other partner and just recently got taps in a couple bars.
