I'm leaning more towards this all being a publicity stunt. He's probably thinking people will buy these as a joke early on, then mark down the price later.

I wonder what the production costs are for a small company like that. Obviously Ball or whatever investor that owns BBB will be making money on this shoe but it's nowhere near what Nike would be making on a $400 shoe. So I wonder if they'll really be able to reduce the price that much

Stephon Marbury had his "Starbury" shoes that sold for like $10 at Steve & Berrys. I'm sure they're crappy, low cost quality. Honestly, who doesn't believe LaVar Ball is trolling the media?

I guess these things may be made to order ? Six months to process an order, if I heard right. $200 up charge for 14s and 15s. That's a whole new thing. Not sure what the cost recovery point is in setting up tooling, but they won't likely be overproduced.

Some are going to buy these for resale, and some fools will pay double for the first round of resale. After that, I can't see hype building unless this kid has a great first season. I think a few dummies are going to get stuck with something overpriced with little demand.

Those shoes were all for his charity, I think. He was taking a shot at the Nike hype machine and the NBA guys whoring shoes.

I guess the NBA is considering allowing players to have corporate logos on their jerseys. This should excite LaVar Ball to no end. There is the perfect corporate partner for his son, given his father's actions to date: Target. I feel sorry for that kid. He is coming into the NBA and every guard in the league will be auditioning to make the All-Defensive Team when he shows up. None of this is his doing, but he is going to take the brunt of this. The problem is, while I empathize with him, I also hope he doesn't excel. That is my failing because I can't stand the father, I'm taking it out on the son.

Taco MacArthur has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I forget where I read it but NBA guys have already said they can't wait to make Lonzo their b*tch because of Lavar.
Not sure if you're making a joke or not bedevil, but teams will have corporate logos, not individual players.

Yeah, it's going to take a Lebron-type talent to negotiate getting their "brand" on a team jersey to close a player contract. This kid is going to be drafted, and as such will be "half chattel" until he actually accomplishes something.

Those shoes will sell pretty well if only because there are tons of shoe collector's that will buy them.

he'll sell at least a couple thousand.

At only 20 bucks a pair to make them, that's a nice. tidy profit.

Wonder if LaVar Ball remembers the Stephon Marbury "Starbury" shoes 10-15 years ago???

That's where Big Baller Brand is headed...

LaVar Ball's Big Ballers AAU team draws massive crowd for the Adidas Uprising Summer Championships: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas...owdown-goes-on

LeBron had planned to go but could not get in. I will give LaVar Ball credit, he sure knows hot to promote something.

The Browns will not win the Super Bowl year. I'm Nostrafreakingdamus.

The reference was to Fox exposing Lonzo in the tournament, not to his future success.

Lonzo is OJ Mayo Jr.
Fox didnt expose him, he didn't have enough help from his white teammates. Daddy said so.
