LaSalle job...

Why was the other thread closed? Is an announcement coming soon? The last posts in the other thread seemed to indicate as much.

I'm guessing someone posted something they shouldn't have in regards to Friday's meeting. Looks like it was deleted and closed.

Hearing there was a 3rd interview today based on social media. You would think the LaSalle job has morphed into a D1 college job.

A 3rd interview for the two named candidates?

Or a 3rd candidate has emerged?

And Neal goes back to RB and team that lost virtually all of its starting lineup

LaSalle did the right thing. Pat has shown loyalty that is rare in todays world and the new admin rewarded him for it.

Congrats Pat! Well deserved.

LS basketball scoring 6 pts in a quarter is going out the window now. It's going to be a track meet on a gym floor with full court pressing, easy buckets and 3 pointers all day long in a race to 100 points.

Any idea who Goedde hires as his assistants?
I say keep Esterkamp...bring back Dan Cronin and Nick Dooros.

Well I'm glad Peterson is happy his friend got the job that on Friday he thought the fix was in for Neal to get the job. I think Goedde is very deserving of this opportunity but still can't ignore the rumors that Flemming did not want him taking over the program.....A lot of pressure of Goedde to continue winning. Guess if not, he will be the fall guy and with a few more years of experience Ryan Flemming can then step in. I do not see Goedde attracting any transfers, unless Goedde is more of a recruiter than we know of.....Neal would have definitely got some players in. As far as asst coaches I would say NO to Cronin....heard none of the Cronin's donate any money to Lasalle, but love to tout their Lasalle connection.

It's annoying when coaches think they can call the shots even after they retire. You retired...move on.

Take it for what it is...personnel decisions have followed the LS administration at times in questionable ways, this is not debatable. The guy put 20 plus years in one school as an assistant-that has to mean something powerful to the constituents he served.

Rumors have 2 sides-always remember that. Fleming is well thought of but so is Pat Goedde or else he wouldn't have gotten the job over the other applicants with proven track records as varsity coaches.

Ryan Fleming is a great guy and hopefully a great coach but 2 years don't stack up to 20 plus. I hope Goedde hires Ryan to his staff. I would love to see that bridge to the program between those 2!

Lastly; any of the Cronin's and their money and what they do with it is their business. As far as touting their "La Salle connection" goes, are you joking? Cronin(s) can be mentioned with the likes of Big O, Mack, Pitino's, Huggins, Thompson jr, (georgetown) etc....you think they are sweating the La Salle "connections" of Cohen, Tankersley, Marshall or Dierkers? Ok. And you must believe there are 32 days in July. Last times I checked Ls doesn't have the best track record of how to manage the books; maybe that is the reason why Cronin(s) are reluctant to give. Touche'.

I agree that Ryan is a great kid, but I don't see anyway Pat brings him in as an assistant. He would be looking over his shoulder the entire time. Especially with some probable lean years (by Lasalle standards) ahead of them unless some "recruits" come in and that's not Pats MO.

I think its more than that. Neal is no different than Ellison, Kerr, Argentati etc. They all want something a little more, and thats Div 1 at the highest level(GCL/GMC). No matter how good your program is, these coaches are always looked at like little brother whether thats fair or not. Neal is extremely accomplished but like most of us he wants more and wants to do it at the highest level possible.
