The interesting part of the SJJ/SFS matchup is what can Lewis do to get his offense going against SJJ stifling D. Anderson can shut down Graham and Lewis will have 4-5 practices to figure it out. In the socind game will be how Witcher defends Brown and how Bowsher shoots from 15+ out.

SJJ has given up 58 only twice all season, Lima and Rogers and I imagine the Rogers points came against bench? 10 points is a polite prediction unless Ed pulls the horses against the alma mater, something he's not normally done. I'll say, split the difference between the two games, win by 20.

Bowsher-Whitmer? Biased, I want the two Eastsiders going at it. Anyone have something to distinguish these two teams?

SJJ wins 50-32 and it wasn't even that close. Lewis tried a slow-down strategy and it didn't go well.

Ross alum offering input to some recent posts.

Unfortunately, I will agree times have changed what seems for the worst in Fremont. But, I will also state there was a time for much of the 70s, 80s, and 90s when people looked at the Little Giants in envy academically and/or football.

Interesting Stat for recent local area athletes
Big Ten Regular Season Championships
Donnal 1
Hayes 1
Brown 1
Buford 3

Big Ten Tournament Championships
Donnal 1
Simpson 1
Hayes 1
Brown 1
Buford 3

Final Four Appearances
Hayes 2
Brown 2
Buford 1

I think the argument is beginning to sway for best era though mid 70s had much more depth. We'll have to see how the NBA works out I guess.

Great post East, 4 years ago I would of said Marc Lovings name would be on that list, funny how it can all play out.

That kind of stood out to me too but didn't see that there was a point. Maybe there is.

Donnal has taken a lot of message board flak for not being all-world. He was good enough to be recruited into a class with TWO Parade All-Americans. Michigan's performance this year is not a surprise. It's been an under-achievement, they now seem to have corrected.

Hayes and Brown were recruited into a team without a lot of recent history and has led them to one of their best runs in history.

Loving got recruited onto a team that was in one of its best runs in history. Somewhere the wheels went off the bus, his suspension not helping. That also seems to have corrected (hopefully). I thought he might challenge top ten scoring but he is above the 30 mark. He contributed every year.

That's impressive.

Also unusual is that they're forward dominated. All in the 6'7" and taller category. We've traditionally been guard dominant.

Kind of another fun thing, though a bit stalkerish, updating how that State final Whitmer team is doing. Fairly cerebral group. A Math brain at UT. A Dean's list regular at Findlay. Hayes' non-bball successes are well recognized. Wormley two time All B10 Academic. Norton three time all MAC Academic. And (maybe two) NFL prospects. Another playing bball in Canada and one playing baseball for Bluffton.

From that 2012 game Pick Central sent two to Mich. one for bball (now NBA) another for football. Another to MSU for bball. Also a baseball player (Dayton?), and likewise, the rest to smaller schools. All seemed to be doing particularly well.

Spoiled jocks.

Donnel would be a great pickup for either of the 2 local MAC teams. He would thrive in the MAC.

Nigel Hayes has played in 150 straight games for Wisconsin and has made 4 straight Sweet 16's. Impressive.
