You, sir, just guaranteed a loss by the Pens.

Way to go, .jack

Question for you hockey fans. Just doing some perusing around the internet, was curious about Nashville's attendance/fan support. In the process I stumbled upon Carolina's attendance of 11,776, 63% of the arena's capacity. That's pretty horrid. What are the chances they leave Carolina soon?

There's been rumors about the owners wanting to sell or the team moving for a few years but the NHL has been stubborn about it. Could be soon (<5 years), could be never. If they do move I hope it's to Quebec City.

I am all for any US based teams who struggle consistently with attendance to move north of the border.

I think Carolina will move to Quebec. I think it's clear the Carolinas are not a hockey market, but then again the Hurricanes have sucked for quite awhile now. Probably the only real thing holding back a move is the weakness of the Canadian dollar.

New Jersey is also rumored to possibly be on the move, but I don't see it. The only real open markets right now are Seattle and Quebec City. People have talked about Kansas City for forever now but that doesn't seem like a hockey market either. Would be smart to just retract a team but that will probably never happen. Retract Phoenix, move Florida to Quebec to restore the East/West balance, done. Voila

The League is still in a pretty good spot though. Tons of young superstars coming in and most teams are financially stable, unlike the NBA.

I can't wait to see the NHL try to prop up both Phoenix and Vegas. Bettman is a genius.

Well my Oilers got further than I imagined. I can live with that.

Anyone catch the Caps score?

Pleasantly surprised by the Pens win. Apparently made some adjustments with strategy and mindset. They have a decent chance of repeating now. Lets see what Ottawa brings.

I understand where you are coming from I've lived in Cincinnati 20 years and would never root for the Bengals or the Reds. I grew up in Pittsburgh area (left about 30 yrs ago) Not all that interested in the Cavs (the NBA) or Indians (American league) so I don't really care if their from Cleveland. I don't like the Browns but they have been so bad for so long I almost feel sorry for them. I can say I don't "hate" any of those teams, just don't like them or don't care.

As a kid living just across the border in PA, that was me growing up. Loved the Browns and Indians, and watched the Penguins and was a genuine fan. When I moved to Pittsburgh after high school, it became overwhelmingly apparent that Pens fans weren't any different than Steelers or Pirates fans (though the Pirates sucked for so long by then, that most didn't care about them except for "You have to check out PNC Park, it's beautiful"). That realization easily turned me off from cheering for them and gravitated to the Blue Jackets. Mostly because I now get some of their games on television in Mahoning County.

Hurricane's attendance has been down for three years now, I believe. It didn't help that the arena was not ready for two years (?) when the team first moved to NC - though that would not explain the drop in attendance of late. Maybe some of the novelty has worn off - in addition to the poor results.

BTW, Carolina played in our GSO Coliseum the first years where the attendance, iirc, was lukewarm at best.

Definitely should have had it as the late game tomorrow night

Nashville seems like a team of destiny. Crazy how mediocre they were in the regular season and then just blow it up in the playoffs

A few of my friends are penguins and Cavs fans. Cleveland guys in all sports but cheer for the pens. Pittsburgh guys in all sports but cheer for the Cavs

And they'll rip the cities in football. Makes absolutely no sense

I blame you.

Well, at least they got to the conf finals this year with their defense getting decimated with injuries and got passed the Caps!

Sens in the finals...I guess if it isn't going to be the Pens at least it is a team from Canada.

The Pens are playing like complete bums. Ottawa is not at all better than Washington.

Sullivan has to get these guys going. Crosby and Malkin need to start taking over games.

Wonder if it is somewhat a mental letdown in getting by CBJ and the Caps. I know, its the conference finals and that should be motivation enough but sometimes human nature takes over.

Saw that MAF was benched and Murray came back. Wonder how that will pan out going fwd. Other than game 3 it appears defense hasn't been the issue.

Yes impressive. Now if form holds true they will lose in Ottawa 2-1 and win game 7 @ home. ... but they have been winning series' on the road more often then not so hopefully they win tomorrow in a tight one.

And then be too beat down and tired to beat the Preds.

What an amazing story for Nashville....8th seed to Cup Champions.

My understanding is that the Predators are pretty beat up themselves.
