As far as prime time shows:
Dukes of Hazzard
Happy Days
Laverne and Shirley
Knight Rider
Threes Company
Fantasy Island
Starsky and Hutch
Mash
All in the Family
Brady Bunch
Jeffersons
Alice
Taxi
Bewitched
Different Strokes
Just off the top of my head. I remember Friday nights was Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Dukes of Hazzard. Two hours of what I thought was great TV. Oh how far we've come.

The Hulk

I remember, CLE local kids TV. Not my fav, even as a kid I thought they were too corny. For AM weekdays before I was in school my mom told me my favorite was Captain Kangaroo, in particular I liked when the moose pranked the Captain w/ the ping pong balls.

Great. Picks. Unless I overlooked it, nobody mentioned Scooby Doo . (Scrappy doo stunk) Also huckleberry hound. One cartoon off the grid was Wait until your father gets home-based more like a animated sit-com. Tom Bosley voiced the dad
Back to land of the list, a young Bill Laimbeer played one of the sleestacks

I thought Capt.Penny had a decent show, but you're right on about Barnaby, he was one strange ranger. Any body sneak down the stairs to watch Ghoulardi, on Friday night ? When he 1st came on I was ten, by the time he left Cleveland, I was old enough to stay up and watch.

There was something on before Captain Kangaroo. I can see it in my head but can't come up with a name. I think it had something to do with Kindergarten but can't be sure.
Ghoulardi, lol. When blowing stuff up with fire crackers was the thing that was going to bring civilization down. Midnight Special, Don Kirshner... some good late night. Reminds me another thing gone to the past. That station sign-off circle thing with the annoying noise.
Oh man we sound old. Tomorrow we should all go outside and yell at some kids to "get off our lawns." What else do old men do? Weren't many around when I was a kid, I have bad role modeling for this stage of life.

That's it exactly. Looney Toons, Romper room and Captain Kangaroo. Can't remember though if all that happened before heading to school or if it was before I started going. Might have been when I had the afternoon Kindergarten session.

We did not get a TV until I was five and then my parents really went all out on the TV they bought. I can remember neighbors and relatives coming over to the house to see how big the screen was on our black and white TV, many of them had never seen such a large screen, all 17 inches of it. When they came to deliver and set up the TV, the first show that came on was Howdy Doody. Grew up out side of Cleveland and we had 3 channels to pick what we wanted to watch from. Do any of one remember the Caption Penny Show that came on at noon each day?

Was that part of the show? I honestly don't remember. I remember the look and him blowing up toy cars and army men and there being a rage on by parents. It was usually pretty grainy here in Toledo. Not sure if it was broadcast out of Cleveland/Detroit or on one of the weaker stations.
