Ohio HS Indoor Records - Girls

OK - 1st stab at this with release of what appears to be the all-time bests for girls' HS indoor marks. I've used Craig Whitmore's info from Jesse Squire's page as a reference and have scoured the internet for details on these performances. The only change to Mr. Whitmore's info has been the updates to records in the weight throw & triple jump, both records having been set after the last update by Mr. Whitmore in 2007. The pole vault has improved as well. My goal is to have as complete a listing of both boy's & girls' indoor bests by the end of the current indoor season. FYI - I use a combo of resources to pull this information together:

* The late-great Mr. Whitemore's
* Track & Field News - Magazines, etracks, etc.
* HS Track Issues (from Jack Sheperd at Track & Field News) - I have numerous issues going back to 1955 in both PDF & hard copy forms, but I do not have a complete set...yet.
* Dyestat - New & Old Archives (yes, Dyestat archives back to 1996 are still around)
* Ohio Milesplit
* National Scholastic Foundation internet archives
* Many timing companies results archives.
* IAAF athlete profiles
* Subscription to Newspaperarchive.com
* Numerous other website archives that escape my mind currently.

My database continues to grow, and I hope to have a top-10 listing of both boys' & girls' indoor all-time marks by 2020 to post here. The outdoor lists, as you have seen, are already under development, and those will continue to be posted as I complete them to my satisfaction. Hopefully, everyone should have a pretty good set of data within the next 5 years.

Attached is the girl's indoor field events & pentathlon records as they appear to be currently. Enjoy, and have a great 2019!

If anyone can provide the details on Odita's 6' high jump in 1986, PLEASE forward that information to be included. Thanks!

NEVER MIND! Odita's 6-footer was at the Coaches Classic at OSU, 22 March 1986.

File has been updated.

I believe there is a typing error in the triple jump name. You have both the first and last name typed in the first name column for Jalesha Jarman of Withrow.

Thank you for spotting that error. The file has been corrected.

Peggy Odita did the Heptathlon at Stanford U. and her best point total of 5,439 from 1989 ranks 5th on their all time list.

She won the state high jump three years at Upper Arlington H.S. in 1984 (5'9"), 1985 (5'10") and 1986 (5'10"), yet the state meet record was shown in AAA and DI as 5'10". JAVMAN83, shouldn't they have put the record with the " as part of the record and not just as 5'10".

JAVMAN83, never mind. The 1986 high jump was conducted indoors which is why they used her 5'10" jump from 1985

For those that don't know, there have been a couple of occasions where the high jump & pole vault for several classes have been held indoors in French Field House. I know 1986 was such an occasion, and if memory serves me correctly (without looking), 1979 was another occasion.
