Yes, it did. But at least we now realize that Kent wasn't the "bad" team they appeared to be after their losses to Aurora and Woodridge. Those games were probably more to do with a lack of pitching depth than anything else. Now they are 10-8 on a 4 game winning streak including a win over Lake.

At least two of the best area players from this senior class excel at private schools, and one is in track for football's sake. It's a small school

I get that. I don't believe Rev gets that. She's been on here for a couple years now, calling for the coach to be fired bc he can't win. It's tough to win when your pitchers throw 55 and your hitters hard hit balls don't make it out of the infield. Oh yea her kids were gods gift to Revere and are excelling at some college playing some sport. That part is a bit hazy though.

So I caught some of Revere's game last week and this week. Your right old Macdonald these kids throw meatballs like a lot of his past teams. Feel bad for coaches that works so hard to make a winning program and kids never buy in because their parents keep telling them they are better than the program. If parents just concentrated on telling their kids to listen to the coach, work your tail off, and encourage your teammates them maybe they would play as a team and win, but until then I guess he's stuck with alleged D1 athletes who would rather tweet selfies.

There's a blond-haired sprinter over there that can probably throw 90 mph by now. If there's a home game with a lead after 5, and the track team is around, go get him.

It seems crazy that Aurora has no more league games until the two with you guys 5/2 and 5/3. That's almost two weeks going back to the 21st.

It looks like you can tie them for the league if you win out, right ?

Yes, would have to win both, then we'd be "co-champs". Kind of like kissing your sister.

Highland still only has two losses (4-2). They have six games left against Barberton (2), Kent Roosevelt (2), and Revere (2). They are trailing Revere 9-7 in the top of the 5th that was postponed.

Copley lost to Kent 6-1 tonight. Team looks done. Just mailing it in at this point. Sure looks like coach has lost his team. Hayes injured elbow in bottom of 4th, already down 2-0. Had to leave game. Similar injury he had in late Winter. Kid said he heard elbow pop. Hope for the best for the young man.

Best of luck to Hays. If he needs the TJ bionic elbow, I hope he gets the right surgeon.

That is a lot of games to play being down a pitcher. Next man up, right ?

My son is friends with Hays and just spoke to him. He said his arm is just fine and could have finished the game....Fantozzi was just being cautious. He said had some lower bicep tendinitis in January which causing some cracking sounds. He was checked by an orthopedic doctor and everything was fine. He said this was the same thing. There was no pop in the elbow and was mad he was taken out of the game.

Obviously you weren't at the game. What happened was after delivering a pitch, Copley catcher went out to see if Hayes was ok, after he turned away from Copley dugout and began grabbing his forearm, below the elbow. When Copley catcher asked if he was ok, kid told him he heard a pop in his arm after delivering the pitch. Hayes wanted to keep pitching, but Copley, coach seeing there was a problem, came to the mound to check on Hayes. Decision made to remove kid from the mound, which was the right thing to do. Hayes had similar issues early in year is true. He was shut down for weeks, and did receive physical therapy. Anytime any description regarding a pitcher's arm injury includes the words "cracking" or a "pop", that can't be a good thing regardless how you describe it. Initially when he first had this problem, he came back in a week or so, and attempted to throw again with the same result. Ultimately PT and rest was prescribed, which resulted in a long layoff. Incurring a similar injury within a few months should be concerning, as the young mans long term health health is the most important thing. Whether he wanted to remain in the game is understandable, but the right call was made by Copley coach for sure.

Most definitely the young mans health is the most important thing and coach made the right decision. The young man says his arm feels fine and it checked out fine with his doctor....so all good news!
