Overturning calls

Is there any rule about overturning calls after the match if it was a AWFUL CALL?
I was just wondering thank you

The rule is, some will think it’s a great call, some will think it’s a just call, some will think it’s a bad call. The winner might think it’s a lucky call, while the loser may feel it’s an unlucky call.

Without human officials, we don’t have organized sports.

Actually based on what they said at the 2017-18 rules interpretation meeting, "In OT it has to be a really awful call at the buzzer".

Speaking from expierence here!

You may think its a bad call and from you angle it may have been

But from the refs angle he may have thought it was a perfect call

People are quick to criticize but things move faster with a whistle around your neck!

One thing i know for sure unless your name is Kolat and your overseas wrestling once a hand is raised typically the match is over expect some weird protest calls with video

Here's your "bad call'. Northwestern sectional, head official calls clasping, secondary official gets in his ear. Fine job loudonville guy, making sure your hometown kids won! Secondary official, got in the fairly new officials ear and cost the kids a win.

Maybe the other kid should have been up by 2 points so no official had a chance to cost him a win.

I am a seasoned ref for over 20 years. The only time I reverse calls are when parents barge in with their video proof. So if you feel like your kid got screwed, please approach us with your cell phone video
Thank you

Clasping is a tough one.. I only call clasping when it is blatant right in front of me. Although one time a mom brought down video proof that her son was clasped and I awarded him a point immediately. I guess I would say clasping is a judgment call

There is a lot of sarcasm going on above.

At OHSAA level once hands are raised and wrestlers leave the mat its over. Because there is no ďofficialĒ video.

There is a little know rule that states something of the effect that you have 90 days to submit in writing with proof (proof is designated as empirical evidence such as video, or photographic evidence such as a still shot of a kid on offence with his back flat on the mat, which is clearly a defensive pin), and you send that into the NFHS headquarters and a panel will be formed to examine the merit of the claim, and if it is found to have merit, the match is reversed and all subsequent matches by the loser are declared void, and all team points earned after that are taken way.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

Absolutely as long as there is indisputable video evidence.

I think it was a clasping call or maybe an illegal lock (can't remember for sure) but whatever it was it was called in overtime at the HWT Kettering Farimont district, decided the match. I don't really understand the call does someone else?

The worst call I ever made was in January 1988. However, I was able to reverse that call 20 years later with the help of a good divorce attorney.

I would have to say that "good attorney" is an oxymoron.

To dispute a call with OSHAA is $50
If you send me cell phone video and the $50 cash Iíll submit it to Mr Turpin and they will begin the process. If you lose the dispute the $50 is non refundable but they take clasping very serious

Isn't that a locking overhead arm bar, Or overhead arm lock?

After looking at your posts I went looking for others from Fairmont this answers your question. It even had a picture of the heavy weight finals with this exact call. It sounds like the group of refs were good with some hard calls missed. the guy sounds like a ref by the rule book numbers he's giving

It’s a form of clasping. You can’t grab your opponents uniform. Technical violation.
I wasn't there. Don't know what call was. From the photo, it appears to be an illegal double arm bar from the front, with the hands locked on the back. It is illegal when the wrestlers are on their feet or on the mat. To be legal, the hands must be locked under the armpit. Rule 7-1-5j and illustration 68 in rule book.
