Yeah, we also didn't have that D1 QB and still won.
You were wrong then. Why are you right now?

He committed to NAIA St. Francis (Indiana). Great choice

I would think so. Going 2-0 in NC would help a lot as well.

Your missing all the offense now. Take those purple shaded glasses off.

Coldwater will depend on how what is done at the QB spot. Clinton Massie again looms in week 2 and Kenton seemed to really come on after the week 1 loss.
Can Minster recoup from losing their ace? Will they reload or will it take 2 seasons?

Huelsman, who was a RB, replaced Nixon who passed for 8,000 yards, tweaked the offense to a different kind of QB, should have a senior and a Junior battling for QB, both have different kind of strengths....should be interesting

IndianDad, I admire your charisma and passion towards the Fort. It's been nice to see them finally having success after many years scraping the bottom of the barrel. The football team has become the pride and joy of that town, and you have every right to be hopeful of their success. I compare it to the first time coldwater or Marion won their first title. No one gave them much at the time because powerhouses st. Henry, Delphos, and Versailles still looked down on them. The Fort has talent throughout their system. They'll be just fine, not necessarily the top yet, but they're getting there.

Why have Coldwater and ML been dominant? Is it because they have had a run of great natural athletes or do they develop those athletes? There is no reason why FR can't develop kids into elite athletes. The last 4 years have shown that we are on our way of doing that.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying that the Fort is gonna be spoken down on because of the current powerhouses they have to overcome. I'm not speaking down on them. I witnessed their first title and it was magnificent. Developing the athletes I believe is the key to success, and I believe Niekamp has prepared them to be an elite team, they just need to take the next step.

What? I was just making a joke about The Hole In The Wall, the crappy bar off state line on the FR side.

With the basketball team not doing so hot, rather talk of other sports. My guess.

Doing a little research, I saw that Marion Local has Woodlan (Indiana) on the schedule in 2019 at home.

The worst team in the MAC will probably be better than some teams that make the playoffs.

They'll give you guys a pretty decent chunk of points should you win. Unsure if they're available for week 2 this season.

How can Coldwater find these big OOC games but not Marion? Are they not going out looking for them or what?

Because CW has been D -5 or D-4 in the past where ML has been D-7 or D-6. D-3 or D-4 teams are very reluctant to play a D-6 or D-7 school. It was very surprising that CW was D-6 this past season. Plus ML just played CJ the last 2 seasons, so that answers your question.

Well now they have both been 6 for two years, so what's the problem now?

This was CW's 1st year at D-6. The problem is Ohio teams are unwilling to play ML that is a fact. Plus Patrick Henry just dropped their return game to Marion Local as did a Michigan team several years ago that makes scheduling even more difficult. Schedules are made out usually several years ahead plus Coldwater has the advantage of playing Kenton every season. FWIW I believe the cut-off for D-5 is 160 and Coldwater is at 159, ML is at 120, so CW in 2019 could easily be D-5 again.

I have yet to hear confirmation that Patrick Henry isn’t playing at Marion Local this year. The game is still listed on ArbiterLive.

get a couple of kids from Celina and that should boost the Cavs into Div 5 again

No Sarcasm Needed
Parkway 1-9 from the MAC beat the Northwest Conf Champs in Spencerville in 2017.

I have a source at Patrick Henry who claims the coach there knew he was on the way out when he scheduled Marion Local (and a couple of other far away games). Supposedly it was his revenge for the community pushing him out.
Not sure I totally believe it, but that was the story.
