Region 8: Harrison (7-3) @ Troy (9-1)

Home field advantage for Troy
One common opponent - Vandalia Butler (Troy 24-0 & Harrison 42-19)
Grass field with with wet conditions expected
Troy run oriented team
Harrison passing oriented

With Harrison back to being healthy on both sides of the ball this will make for an interesting game. If the field conditions recover I think Troy may give Harrison some headaches running the ball but with the return of most of Harrison's starters on defense i think they will be able to challenge Troy's running game. Harrison has a lot of big weapons on offense and two really good running backs but Harrison's play calling needs to improve from last week.

Best of luck to both teams!

I do not think the Troy vs VB game can be used to compare. It was not Troy best look at all. With all the rain this year, both teams will be ready for the Mud. Also, VB was much better with a new coach latter in the year than early in the year.

Troy 21 - Harrison 20.

I think VB was missing their stud receiver/returner in the Troy game? If so, that would be a game changer as he was very good.

Logically yes, practically no. Troy is 4+ scores better than Vandalia even with the WR. I am a Vandalia fan.

Two very good teams that are pretty evenly matched. Weather looks good so I have to go with Troy.

Not making any predictions this year because last years prediction of Troy putting a beat down on Anderson didnít go so well.

Letís hope for a safe and good game.

The question about how some discipline issues will play out for this game after the post Piqua game.... umm issues. May or may not have a huge impact on this game.

I'm confident it has, I hope it doesn't have an impact on the game. It would be a shame if the rest of the team had to suffer because of this. I for one wasn't as upset about it as most was. We have to remember that these are still teenage kids and we was also young and stupid once, we just didn't have social media to "share" the stupid stuff we did..... thankfully!

He was a one man show offensively when Harrison played them.

Handled as in suspensions? Sitting out first half? A quarter? Or swept under the rug? One of the players in question is their stud running back. If he is suspended that will have as big of impact as Harrisonís qb being injured.

I doubt there is any suspensions for this because itís the playoffs. But this will definitely set a presedent for the program of either what is aloud and what isnt

Good grief! Your right, this DANGEROUS presedent set by a teenager grabbing his crouch in a picture will undoubtedly be far reaching, and alter the future of the dayton area forever!

If you can take a break from clutching your pearls, why donít you take a breath, leave the kids alone. There have been significantly worse things happen around this rivalry.

Nobody said anything about dangerous, but if a coach will allow this kind of disrespect for another team and community what else will he allow

If the worst thing a high school kid does is post a private Instagram picture holding his covered privateís and using an expletive, thatís probably a good season for said coach. Also would be willing to be this kid isnít the first to post something with this sentiment, just the first one to get caught. High school kids are well, high school kids.

Just a question for the SWOC people, is this Harrison team at all similar to Anderson last year? Anderson loved slinging it around to receivers the whole game...and I didnít think Andersonís defense was going to be good but they were tough.

Defensively, Troy will control this game. The Trojans will pound the ball and control the tempo. If not Harrison wins in a shootout.
Troy 28
Harrison 21

I think Troy wins, albeit closer than some think. As for the pic "controversy", well, it's a learning opportunity. HC should have torn into them and put them in their place. I don't think it needs to go further than that. But it was still pretty dumb. Teach them now and guide them along.

It was an Instagram picture in the locker room (I believe) after the Piqua game, with 3 Troy players still in uniform pictured grabbing their crotches. The caption of the photo was very expletive heavy and condescending towards Piqua.

There are some similarities but also some differences. They played with an incredibly fast pace, much more than we do. We go no-huddle but not at their pace which was the fastest pace I've seen. We also run more than they did and our QB runs more than theirs did. Both teams can score extremely fast and light up the scoreboard. For Harrison, it's all about protecting our QB and giving him a reasonable amount of time to throw. He has great escapability for a big kid and he avoids alot of sacks but things won't go well for us if he's evading pass rushers all night. Check him out on hudl and you'll see what our offense is all about.
