Bama
OSU
ND
TCU

I really wanna put UGA in there, but I think they'll lose by 7-14 to Bama in the SECCG which will knock them out of contention. I could see it going Bama-ND-OSU-UGA if the SECCG is a last second Bama FG win.

Agreed. I should have added at the end of my post that we'd have to see the Big 12 cannibalize itself for starters. Then Miami would have to lose once more while beating Clemson. Very unlikely all that shakes out though.

There is still alot of football to be played and as usual, this will sort itself out. I can't help but laugh though, because this is, once again, falling right into the hands of the Buckeyes. Seeing how Michigan has fallen off the map now (not unexpected) they will have two games this entire season to "get up" for.

Oklahoma - got spanked at home
and this Saturday vs. Penn State. They win Saturday, and they've got another cake walk to the playoffs. I tell all you guys on here how weak the big ten is and it just plays itself out every season. And lets not forget that Penn State needed a desperate last minute TD to win at 4-3 Iowa. The playoff committee needs the big ten ratings in the midwest, but this would be a good season to not put a big ten team in the playoff.

For 3 weeks in a row, they've barely beaten opponents with inferior talent.

3 teams in the top 6 and 14Red thinks the committee should snub the Big Ten from the playoffs

The Big Ten West is weak, no arguing that. But the Big Ten East is the best division in CFB right now.

At this juncture I'm guessing Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Notre Dame are going to be playing for the title at the end. I don't think Oklahoma will run the table. A close Georgia loss to Alabama in the SEC title game would make things interesting.

I don't see ND moving 5 spots for beating the #14 team.

Probably something like:
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State
4. Clemson
5. Wisconsin
6. Miami
7. Notre Dame
8. Oklahoma
9. Penn State
10. Washington
11. Oklahoma State
12. Virginia Tech
13. TCU
14. Washington State
15. UCF

All I know is if Notre Dame wins out, they will be in over every 1 loss School. No one will have the wins they have. Not to mention money is on their side as well.

This is supposedly completely separate from all other rankings. I do think ND will be #3 or #4 this week. They already have the best resume of the one loss teams.

I think if OSU wins out they get in.

I also think that 75% of the country will effectively lose their $hit if that happens.

It's pretty safe to assume, Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Miami all control their own destiny. If they win out, they are in. I think there is a scenario where Penn State gets in over Wisconsin, although extremely unlikely.

Well, they're doing it again...the Buckeyes are going to slide their way into the playoffs again. They will be favored in every game the rest of the way.

Funny though, it seems like no one remembers Oklahoma? They have one loss, and, beat the Buckeyes in Columbus badly. Just like VaTech a few years ago and Penn State last year, the pollsters want the Buckeyes in the playoffs and will make it happen if at all possible.

I just want this farce of the college playoff to end. Just take the top 20-30 teams, make them play each other over a 10 game schedule and stop this charade of how the teams are selected.

Unlike tOSU Oklahoma's troubling unit, defense, has not been getting better. I agree if they both finish the season at 12-1 the Sooners should get the nod but I would not be surprised at all if Oklahoma State puts up a big number on that unit and beats the Sooners at home in an old school Big 12 shootout this weekend. They then run the table and play a 11-1 TCU for the Big 12 title. A 12-1 Oklahoma State or TCU will have trouble getting in front of a 12-1 tOSU.

At this point the big discussion is going to be ND with no conference title game to consider when the committee meets that weekend. Out of sight and out of mind will possibly not hurt such a big brand name but if Clemson and tOSU run the scores up during their Conference title games things could get spirited in that committee meeting room. What the committee should be most worried about is the scenario where UGA beats 'Bama and all but the PAC 12 have a 1 loss champ. If so you would be looking at this:

1) UGA> 12-0 easy #1
2) ND> Lost to #1 by only 1 point but didn't have a conference title game to make a statement or possibly slip up.
3) 'Bama: Current Kings of NCAA football, they will be in this thing if they lose a close SEC title game.
4) Clemson: Defending champ, to be the champ you have to beat the champ.

By the way, the Orange Bowl gets 1st pick this year for the New Years Bowls and they are dreaming of a scenario where tOSU is left out of the playoffs at 12-1 especially if they pair them up with 2nd place ACC team, hometown Miami.

Ohio State won on Saturday but it was not a top 5 performance. Penn State's playcalling left a lot to be desired. With that said, the Buckeyes will be ranked at least in the top 5, because they beat #2. Buckeye fans can finally get off Barrett's back, he played a great 4th Qtr to get them the win.

I think tomorrow's rankings will be:
1. Bama
2. UGA
3. Wisconsin
4. Ohio State
---------------
5. Notre Dame
6. Clemson

Followed by a cluster of:
Penn State
Oklahoma
Miami
TCU
Oklahoma State

If they consider Wisconsin Sagarin SOS being 11 and ND being 5th I think they swap those 2. If not - if they put more emphasis on overall record - I think you're right on.

Pretty simple. Notre Dame's lone loss is by 1 point to Georgia. They have already beaten USC, Michigan State, NC State, all currently ranked opponents.

Many experts think it will be Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and then either Clemson or Oklahoma this week.

I do think Ohio State's biggest problem would be if Notre Dame, Clemson, and Oklahoma win out. Ohio State may very well win out and only have two top 25 wins on its resume. Oklahoma, has more quality games left than Ohio State. Clemson still has the meat of its schedule left as well, starting this weekend. If the committee starts with Ohio State ranked below Oklahoma and Clemson, I think only a loss by those teams moves Ohio State ahead of them, since Ohio State has fringe top 25 Michigan State and Michigan left before the Big Ten championship.
