Can anyone beat Alabama in 2018?

Will it be LSU?
My thought is Georgia and Bama both make the playoffs. Clemson from the ACC and Texas from the B12. OSU will get the Rose. scUM the At-large if they beat OSU. The committee will continue their love affair with the SEC.

The only logical answer to this question should be a big NO.

It's not a love affair, the SEC has the best teams, and they play each other year after year. I don't think LSU can score with Bama. This team is different because they can actually throw the ball downfield. LSU would need a perfect game to hang with Bama. If LSU didn't lose to Florida, they might had been able to make it with one loss, but if they lose to Bama, they are all but out.

If Tua is the QB i doubt it. The defense isnt as good as years past IMO. However if Tua gets hurt it is wide open

The only way anyone has a shot at Bama is if they knock Tua out of the game in their first few offensive possessions.

Total domination. I've seen enough tonight to believe they should be a 30+ point favorite against anyone.

It doesn't look like it. I think Michigan could keep them in check like LSU's defense did, but I don't think the offense can score what they need to in order to win.

Clemson’s been dominating since the Syracuse game. I would give them the best shot. After that maybe an up tempo offense that can score a bunch like Oklahoma if they got in a shoot out with them. This looks like the best Alabama team Saban has had, and that’s saying something.

As I posted on another thread the only way Bama doesn't win the title is if Saban cheats on his deal with Satan.

As an aside, at what point does College football have a lack of parity problem? Every year it's the same old folks in the top 10 with Bama at the top. Now that Saban has a stud QB to show off will Bama be a destination program for future top QB prospects? If it is there may be no answer to Bama as long as Saban is coaching.

Let's face it Saban is Belicheck without a salary cap.

Clemson COULD beat them, but Bama would be a 9 point favorite IMO. No other team has a chance

Depends on the measurement. It could be, based on the measurement that the talent is more diluted across college football, thus it is more difficult to consistently win than in decades past. Of course, due to TV and social media, it's easier to recruit outside of your geographic base than it used to be. With great players routinely heading to the NFL early these days, it's harder to assemble a roster full of talent that you may have been able to do in past decades when you had players for four years and future Hall of Fame players like Marcus Allen sat and waited their turn behind elite talent.

Coker doesnt coach Bama and that is the difference. Conservatively I think bama wins by +21.

For any team to have a real chance they need Tua to get hurt early.

With Saban coaching this Alabama team they beat a Coker lead team IMO. Coker was pretty bad, assembled a lot of talent obviously.

Bama's players do not make mistakes and that is coaching. TOSU is always right there in recruiting, but they never seem to be as good, except when they won the NC and that game was won with Tressel's recruits. I think tOSU misses Herman and now Fickel. This defense is not as good without Fickel, and the offense was down the year after Herman left. More importantly, tOSU doesn't seem to improve that much over the year. Bama' just gets better and better.

Theyíve got the overall coaching chops to do it (when you factor in all assstants), but probably not a good enough offense. I think they can compete with Bama on the lines though

The Bama QB is hobbled. He should be able to heal by the playoffs, but if he doesn't, Michigan (if they beat tOSU) will give them all kids of problems if they have to run the whole time. Clemson's front four will also eat them for lunch if they can just focus on the running game.

No, not unless Bama goes down with some major injuries and the other team has a career night.
