Yeah, Mr. Hart went to St. X so it's not surprise most of his sons and several grandsons did as well. I'll be sending my boys to Elder but I work right in the heart of Lasalle territory.

Having worked there for years I can tell you that they were frequently signs for Elder events hung in the windows and that money from the business has gone to causes either directly hosted by Elder or that benefitted it. In addition they are very active in groups aimed at improving Price Hill. I believe Mimi was one of the founding members of Price Hill Will.

True. Hart Pharmacy always has signs in the window for the Elder Sports Stag every year.

Yep, the original Hart Family that owns the pharmacy sent all 7 sons to St. X and at least 3 of the 4 daughters to St. Ursula. Of the second generation of family who own it (2 of the girls), one of them followed that same path with their kids but they have always been supporters of the Price Hill HS schools with signage and such. Elder should ask; so should Seton.

Every time I've driven by - which has been a decent amount lately - the parking lot has been completely packed. Good stuff.

Should every Glenway business have Elder signs in their windows? Of course not.

Not seeing the difference between Hart Pharmacy and any other random business in that section of Glenway.

They are a business, they don’t have to support any school. It’s great if they do but it’s no big deal if they don’t. I doubt very seriously if any family has decided where to send their kid to school based their on a sign in a store window.

Well, I do care, in that I want the relationship between Elder and Westside businesses to be as strong as possible, for their mutual benefit. As I said in my first post about this, they are a private business and can do whatever they want but, P/M, unlike either Elder or St. X has absolutely no ties to the westside. In addition, with the real (to a lesser extent) and perceived (to a greater extent) issues that Elder has faced recently, recruiting the kids that might be more likely to attend P/M is of upmost importance to Elder and its future.

So, they can do what they like, but Price Hill needs Elder and Elder needs the support of the Price Hill business community.

No one has to like or support Elder. I, as a supporter, hope that they do, especially those in Elder's immediate neighborhood. No mystery there. Nothing nefarious there.

Oh I agree. My point was more along the lines Mojo was making about local businesses supporting the local schools. Let's be honest, if Elder were ever to fail or move, that would be devastating for all of Price Hill, especially the local businesses.

I am pretty sure that Anevski bought that area so I am sure that it will be one of his strip malls that sits half empty.

Probably right on. Half will be a Dollar Store and Cash Advance Place and other half will be empty.

They'll probably work a mattress store in there somewhere as well.

Special I-Report tonight at 11:00 on KB Partners (Tom Koopman Elder grad being one of the partners) and their use of City funds for East Price Hill development. For better or for worse KB seems to have a monopoly on getting City funds for development in that neighborhood.

Also, I see that the Lunkenhiemers plant is being readied for demolition at the intersection of Queen City, State Street and Harrison Avenue. It is necessary to take it down to make way for greenspace and the big sewer project but it is kind of sad when one considers the hundreds of westside families it supported for some 60 years.

Here is the story in a nutshell. Good things are happening in the Incline District thanks to Bill Burwinkel, Tom Croft and a core group of people who have been involved in the areas development over the last decades.

Ask Dwight Tillery, 4 million in 10 years he has to have great insight into this! They may have given your portion to Harry Black, to go away and do nothing.

ATTENTION WESTSIDE PARENTS!! Please remember to keep an eye on your kids while attending Elder games! Had 2 grade school aged kids in Rallys Friday who were approached by a local “street worker” asking for money. Have no idea what drug she was high on but she definitely was high. She then proceeded to follow these 2 young boys babbling at them toward Elder until my uncle and I following behind her finally said something to her to leave the kids alone. Just wanted to remind folks to keep an eye on there kids or if no adult with them maybe don’t go off Elders Campus.
