40 mins is the closest divisional drive for them. That will get old.

Everyone still plays everyone so I guess it's not really a big deal.

I'd say Greenville got the shaft. LOL! No chance of ever winning that Division.

Oh great....Now we are going to have a Miami Valley Conference and a Miami Valley League, along with a Muskingum Valley League, but 2 conference abbreviations are nothing new (Ohio Cardinal and Capital Conferences).

Found out that in basketball they will play 18 games in conference. each team twice. And will still play other schools in football in each division.

Don't like being separated from traditional GMVC opponents. Even though they'll still play, those games mean just a bit less since they aren't 'league' games. Such a weak division.

Sidney dropping traditional opening day rival St. Marys and keeping Bellefontaine as their only non-conference game.

There's a whole lot about this I don't like. Not a fan of fewer non-conference games in general. Seeing the same schedules every single year will get old.

Why did they do that?

I don't know the reasoning but it does suck having to choose between the 2. Someone had to go.

For Tipp, football wise this is going to work out much better for them than the GWOC. I don’t see how Tipp doesn’t win at least 6 games in football every single year in the foreseeable future playing the other 9 teams in the league.

Absolute BS

There is no point what so ever to splitting the 10 teams into 2 divisions with 5 teams if they all play each other equally in football and basketball. This is the deterioration of our society giving 2 teams the conference title when only 1 is warranted.

Basically team A and F could be league champions..... shame on the MVL...

A 9-0
B 8-1
C 7-2
D 6-3
E 5-4
F 4-5
G 3-6
H 2-7
I 1-8
O 0-9

Greenville ebbs and flows at football. You know some years they get a few good classes through there. Wasn't THAT long ago they came in second place, you know...

Honestly, it's too bad they couldn't have sucked in Bellbrook and Franklin, split into two six-team divisions, played two crossovers in Weeks 4 and 5, and kept three non conference games to start the season. Nice and tidy, if you ask me.

Look for Franklin and Bellbrook to join. I think the SWBL might add a couple of smaller schools from the CCC to replace them. Franklin and Bellbrook are fits for this.
You might even see Edgewood and Talawanda.

Re read the divisional breakdowns.
Valley Division has
Stebbins
West Carrollton
Fairborn
Xenia
You add Bellbrook and Franklin to that and the drive isn't that bad.
That allows Sidney to be added back to the Miami Division with Troy, Piqua, etc. Maybe add another team or two.

I think you could add Tecumseh and Shawnee to a possible list. Either way, add any 2 of that combination, put them in the Valley side, move Sidney back to the Miami side and it's a great situation.

I don't think Sidney will be there for long. Doesn't make sense. Tipp would have been the better fit.

No they made the divisions based on competitiveness, Tipp would win the conference division in every sport if they were going up against Stebbins, West Carrolton, Xenia and Fairborn

Based on what I have read Sidney chose to go with the other teams so not a situation where they were shafted. Had it been pure geography Vandalia would have been the team to go.

Wow, how will the southern teams ever get enough points for the playoffs? Same with the upper teams? This may be one of the weaker big school conferences in SWO.

But, the potential is there in 5 - 10 years. Tipp, Troy and to a lesser extent Vandalia are growing communities. I applaud the move, even though we will never see a state champion in the big three (maybe baseball Tipp/Vandalia).

Two schools in the northern area were communities are growing include both Bethel and Miami East. If those populations keep growing, they could make a move at some point. More Bethel than M.E, but M.E is getting a lot of builds from the Troy movement.
