Claymont D-2 District Rankings #5

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

Please let me know if anyone has inside information about new weights, schools, or wrestlers that they think should be added.

Iíve tried shifting the wrestlers around from schools that changed divisions. Please let me know if any are wrong, or if Iím forgetting any schools/wrestlers.

Claymont has had some very impressive results recently, highlighted by their wins over Steubenville (42-27) and New Lexington (51-15) in the regional semis and finals of the state duals. This locked up yet another spot in state duals tournament in Columbus.

I have Claymont and Steubenville about even for the district scoring at this time, but Iíll give Claymont the nod based off of the head to head win and the uncertain status of Jacson Muldrew.

Beaver Local placed 3rd at the EOWL Tournament despite being without Thomas, Wirth, and Lowe.

A special thanks to Boro Fan for all the insight into the weights of the wrestlers, Baumís Page, the OVAC website, Inside the Circle, and Jakeís Wrestling for all of the results that they provide, and to any of the other wrestling nerds that actually read these things.

I think Carrollton could capture a top 3 finish if they get starters healthy and a couple over perform. They could send anywhere from 3-7 kids to the Schott

I saw that result, and I thought about putting him ahead of Mays, but I also thought of keeping Mays ahead of Tuttle since he placed over him at the OVAC tournament where Mays beat state qualifier Kusic.

Mays is hard to rank, because he has some impressive tournaments but also a number of losses to other tough opponents.

I think anyone in these top 8 (and maybe 2-3 others) has a legitimate shot at the state tournament. Match-ups could play a vital roll.

Great point. Rankings donít mean squat when it comes time to districts anyways!

At 170 3 of the kids are at the Claymont Sectional (Eyler, Pauley, Harper). You add Love from IV, N. Carrothers from Carr, and Kline from W Holmes thatís a pretty tough sectional.

Bexley 170 Reece Wilson defeated Steubenville's Tuttle. Wilson only has two losses on the season to a state qualifier. Not sure where he will be, but has a very good shot.
