Don't count out the Mohawk Mafia! Trimble's D is legit. This should be a great one. Go Tomcats!

There's a few posters who believe Trimble is a lock to win it all. I'm intrigued. So I'm picking them to win so I can see how they might match up against the Delphos St. John's or Marion Locals of the world.

Shadyside has a line that goes 270-280 lbs. Big for D7. They have 3 backs who have rushed for over 1,000 yards. Their QB, Austin Dorris, has been linked to Ohio U, who will move him to TE. Tall kid, nice speed. Shady doesn't throw the ball much, nor effectively; they haven't had to do it all season.

Saw Catholic Central (9-3) play Trimble last week. Trimble is tough on the rush, but vulnerable to speed; SCC hit about 4 big plays (one was off a tipped pass). SCC put up over 300 yards of offense and scored 22 points. Trimble only allowed 33 points with 8 shutouts the previous 11 games. SCC lost 27-22, losing a fumble at the Trimble 33 with 1:01 left in the game after the Crusader's QB's picked up a 1st down on a 3rd and 1 scramble.

I look for a ground and pound game with the Tigers winning 20-7.

Remember that Catholic Central did most of their damage with three plays. One deep pass that they got incredibly lucky on and it was tipped. Should have been picked. Trimble dominated and blew opportunities early to make this a blow out. Also, the first touchdown should have never happened. This will be one hell of a game. It will be on the radio on Power 105 in Athens or wxtq.com

Trimble's defense is the real deal. I think Shadyside has played a tougher schedule to this point but I think Trimble matches up well. If Trimble can limit the big plays I don't see them getting manhandled and giving up many points. I like them best when they can get a quick lead then ride their defense.

I think this region is really underrated. These are both two very good teams.
The atmosphere for this one should be electric.

FINAL
Trimble-21 Shadyside-14

Trimble was able to run the ball in the 3rd and 4th and their defense really shut down Shadyside as the game went on.

Go Tomcats!

Was Trimble able to control the second half because of conditioning or was it more desire? I saw the stats on Shadyside's line and thought that they were too short and too heavy to go a whole game. The fact that they had not played deep into the 4th quarter in many of their games also led me to believe that Trimble had a great chance in a close game. Excellent effort and good luck with WR.
