Do you 2 sport guys get that response or are they happy your working out?

Do you HS guys get pushback from Football coaches on Lacrosse?

In Florida FB is king. Many of the schools down here do not allow FB players to play other spring sports, because they have a "Spring" FB season. The kids that are lax kids, play year round.

Has Lacrosse helped your other games?

I think alot of HS Football Coaches don't like it much. I coach HS Lax, & the word I get from boys is the coaches give them alot of grief about playing lax. My son who is now playing in college got ridden roughshod throughout HS by his football coaches. He finally told them to ease up because he wasn't going to play football in college, & lax was his preffered sport. They didn't like that much.

Yes playing lacrosse helped me in football and in general athletically. I think having to run and play in space really helped.

My football coaches were generally receptive to the idea of some of his studs playing lax as long as fb was first. On the other hand my lax coaches in all honesty acted like d****. I remember lifting and working out in one of the most grueling off seasons regimens ever, then hurrying up and changing for lax practice Then my lax coaches would make snyde remarks and give no mercy. This may be due to the fact that our lacrosse team at the time was club and was not affiliated with the schools football team.

Thus situation literally just happened to me.

Last year I tore my acl midway through lacrosse season. After rehabbing like ---- all summer I was clear three and a half months after surgery, just in time to play football. I had started every game the previous year at middle linebacker and led the team in tackles. This year I rode the bench because I told my coach I was verbally committed to a university lacrosse. Our team had its worse record in a few years and finished the season with a loss, giving up 50 points on d.

Football vs. Lacrosse

I coach both sports, lacrosse at the high school level and football at the youth level. In my humble opinion and athletically speaking, football will not make you a better lacrosse player but lacrosse can help you become a better football player. In Ohio football is king and it should be, but why are is everyone so up in arms of football players playing lacrosse? The best lacrosse players are generally the kids that play multiple sports with a variety of disciplines. Off-season workouts do not have to be sport specific, in fact I don't endorse any "one sport" specific workout, so why limit a curious kid from playing different sports as long as they work to improve their overall athleticism.

Remember what happened to Todd Marinovich?
