Wayne 2-0 @ Beavercreek 0-2

Beavercreek was coming off of a tough loss at Springfield a game that they led for most of it. For the first few minutes it looked like they were not going to give Wayne a game as the Warriors got rolling early as Smith got the scoring started on a dunk. Quisenberry with a steal and layup followed by a Smith 3 and it was 7-0 Wayne early. That would not last as Beavercreek would come storming back and tied it at 10 on a Alessandro basket and then took a 12-10 lead on another Alessandro hoop. Quisenberry would drill a 3 putting Wayne on a top and then he got a steal and took it to the hoop for a basket and one putting Wayne up 16-12 after 1. Quisenberry had 11 points in the qtr.

Quisenberry would stay hot as Wayne opened up a double digit lead as he drilled two 3 pointers sandwiched around a Parker basket and it was 26-15 Wayne. Beavercreek cut it to 29-22 with a Walther 3 and basket but a McKee shot at the buzzer put Wayne up at the half 31-22.

The 3rd qtr got real physical and the whistles starting blowing... 14 fouls in just over 4 minutes put both teams on the charity stripe and this benefited Beavercreek and they inched their way back in the game. While Wayne struggled it was Johnson and Saleh making free throws. Walther would drill a 3 to pull Beavercreek within 2 at 33-31. Wayne started to get it going with a McKee basket and a Quisenberry score off of a steal but a Zink 3 cut it back down to 2. Wayne held for the last shot and a McKee shot went down at the buzzer as Wayne was up 42-38.

4th qtr started well for Wayne as Smith drilled a 3 following a free throw to put Wayne up 46-38 but Smith picked up his 4th foul. Beavercreek would close to 48-44, in comes Smith, dunk by Smith 50-44 Wayne. Walther would answer with a 3... 50-47. Huge basket by Wayne's Cole on a reverse layup to put the Warriors up 52-47. Beavercreek would be called for a travel but a technical was called on Wayne for clapping. Beavercreek took advantage of that by hitting both free throws and then getting a hoop +1 by Saleh to tie it at 52. Wayne held for the last shot and a Quisenberry 3 went half way down and rimmed out at the buzzer....

Overtime.... Wayne scored first on 2 free throws by Smith. Alessandro would answer to tie it at 54. Wayne would then go up 57-54 on 3 more free throws. Beavercreek came up again with a big shot as Herbort would hit a 3 to tie it at 58. Hampton though with a scoop to put the Warriors back up 60-58. Wayne got the stop and Quisenberry was fouled and then thrown to the ground as a Beavercreek played got T'd up. Wayne would go up 64-58 but Allessandro drills a long 3 to make it 64-61. Wayne was able to make free throws down the stretch as Parker and Quisenberry knocked them down. Another 3 by Alessandro made it close but in the end it was Wayne winning 71-64.

Wayne was led by Quisenberry in scoring putting in 32 points. Smith had 17 before fouling out in OT. Parker 11, McKee 6, Hampton 3, Cole 2

Beavercreek was led by Alessandro with 24, Saleh 13, Walther 11, Johnson 8, Herbort 5, Zink 3
