Fairmont 1-0 @ Wayne 1-0

Wayne opened up a 19-10 lead in the first. Parker scored 8 in the qtr including 2 threes, Hampton had 6 and Quisenberry added 5. Fairmont ended the first on a 4-0 run to make it 19-14 after 1.

Following a Fairmont basket Quisenberry heated up hitting back to back three's to put Wayne up 25-16. Later, Cole would come off the bench and drill a 3 and then a steal by Hampton and basket would make it 40-22 Wayne at the half.

Wayne looked to be in control especially when Palma opened up the 3rd with a basket to put Wayne up by 20 but Fairmont heated up as Wayne went cold and ran off 13 straight starting with back to back threes by Bochenek. Hall had a nice put in on an alley oop that got the Fairmont crowd in it. Wayne finally stopped the bleeding as Smith scored and then seconds later off of a steal it was Smith slamming one down as Wayne opened it back up to 46-35. McKee drilled a 3 making it 49-35. Cole hit a late 3 near the end of the 3rd as Wayne led 54-39 after 3.

Fairmont could not cut the lead under 10 in the 4th. Hendricks hit 2 of his 5 three's in the qtr and Hall added 8 in the 4th but in the end it was too much Wayne. Final, Wayne 73 Fairmont 56

Fairmont has a pretty good team this year. Up next for Wayne is on the road Tuesday at Beavercreek

JV action: Wayne JV found themselves trailing 15-5 after one but no panic as they exploded in the 2nd qtr outscoring Fairmont JV 23-4 as Curry and Fancher got hot from outside and Walker took care of business inside. Walker was also 6 for 7 on the charity stripe. Wayne JV opened up a big lead in the 3rd and came away with a 60-48 win. Freshman Curry and Walker had 14, Freshman Fancher with 13 and Joye scored 10.
