trojandave is on a distinguished road
The Trojans got back on the winning track with a thrilling 65-58 win at South Point. Portsmouth raised its record to 4-1 and 1-1 in OVC play. The Trojans trailed the Pointers 54-42 in the 4th quarter, but rallied to outscore SP 23-4 to end the game. Matthew Fraulini led PHS with 18 points, DJ Eley had 15, while Daniel Jordan and Isaac Kelly pitched in 13.

Despite the win, the Trojans are still plagued with turnovers and going forward must minimize those as much as possible to surpass last year's 15-7 regular season mark. Looking at PHS's schedule, I feel 17 wins is still possible, but not if the turnover issue is not resolved. On the positive side, Portsmouth is probably as athletic as any team on its schedule, and as evidenced last night, has the capability to have balanced scoring.

Sophomore Matthew Fraulini is averaging 15.5 PPG and is one of the leading sophomore scorers in the SE district.

Portsmouth will play Western Pike next Wednesday, followed by a rivalry battle at Wheelersburg on Saturday. The Trojans lead the series against the Burg, holding a 23-17 edge, one of the few schools to have the upper hand on the Pirates in a series.
