Bottom line is the vast majority of state champions end their season at the state meet. The all-time state records would undoubtedly be far different if every state champ and in-season state record...

The record listed was the Division III record until last week. I suspect when they were updating the D3 list somehow the record that was broken was accidentally inserted into the DI list
