ACT scores
 
Just curious to see what scores some of Ohio football players are turning in this summer. My son scored a 27 first attempt his jr. Year

A 27 is really good / above average for a student athlete these days. The ACT is a lot harder than he SAT according to my daughter. A 27 is well within the acceptance range of most schools these days.

I've seen a 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35....

The 10 was Nordonia's valedictorian.

My daughter will be born in about 3 weeks. She scored a 19 on her first attempt at the ACT. Is that good? I've already created the intro to her softball highlight video and will be sending to college coaches soon.

Yes. First child (a girl) is due July 28, but due to a prior surgery my wife had, the scheduled C-section is July 7.

If you are a baller, 27 is fine for pretty much anywhere you want to go , save Ivy's and the like { Duke ? Vandy? Northwestern ? Stanford Rice ? et al }

The good thing about the ACT is you can take it multiple times and schools will only see what you send them , in other words the highest score . I suggest taking it at the end of Soph year for practice and to see where you are, then study for it and take two more times , if you apply yourself and have good study habits and continually learn over the next year and half from there you should improve it .

This is where it helps to attend a high performing academic district , you will wan tot fit in to the culture probably conform to it , do the work and want academic success to some degree, some schools the culture is such that many kids work much HARDER ON THIER ATHELTIC SKILLS , and do not do much work academically . For most kids this doesn't make sense , because there is a lot more money overall in academic grants , merit schollys and the like than kids who get money for sports, and full D-1 RIDES are RARE percentage wise .
