Raymo 11-05-17 01:54 PM

Who is the new good player they are talking about or is it BS?;)

Caleb 11-05-17 05:30 PM

For some reason the city of Canton doesn't make them very tall anymore boys or girls so no height and somebody will have to step up and replace Straughter points. Next person up!

CoventryTrackXCguy 11-05-17 06:01 PM

Looks like a pretty grueling schedule from the bulldogs. The federal league portion alone is a grind, with Jackson. Add to that St. Iggy, St V's, and a lot of other respectable programs. I see at best a 15 win season, perhaps as few as 12 wins. But they'll be as battle tested for the playoffs as almost anyone in the state.

I was thinking Deontae MCCollun might step up and average 15 points a game to replace Straugter's points. Then we have alot of players with playing time who can step up and replace MCCollum's points of last year.

I think Jaedyn MCCallup 6'5" can be a good big man this year.I hope he grows a couple inches!

I also think J'Von Johnson,Tymere Straughter,or EliJa Curtis will have a break out year.

Maybe a couple kids who played JV last year will be a pleasent surprize as well.

Lets go Pups!

Ohio Proud 64 11-06-17 12:49 PM

Any changes on the coaching staff? I love the kids but until there are, same results - under achievement.

BigBulldog 11-06-17 07:27 PM

I just got some very bad news.Someone close to the McKinley basketball program predicts a 4-18 record.

He would not give the reasons for his prediction.Maybe alot of kids transferred?

:(:dang::confused::mad::Ohno:

Freshman Kobe Johnson will see Time this year. Arguably their most skilled prospect as well. I think 3rd, 4th, and 5th are up for grabs in the Federal League this year.

I'm guessing that one of these games is at the Fieldhouse.

Natural PG but can play either guard spot with his ability to catch and shoot. Will be one of the top players in the league in 1-2 years.

That sounds really good that he will be one of the top players in the league as a sophmore or junior.

The 2nd coming of Gary Grant baby!

9th @ Medina w/ Barberton
11th @ Bennedictine w/ Lorain
18th vs Ashland (HOME)
24th Africentric Mega Scrimmage
25th All-Ohio Preview

I'm all for playing a tough schedule but playing a brutal schedule can ruin the kids confidence.

I think this happened last year and maybe again this year.

The Fed schedule is tough enough that you don't have to play a brutal non league schedule.

A hard(Not brutal) non league schedule is good enough so you don't ruin the kids confidence.

Anyone go to Medina/Barberton/McKinley scrimmage and have an update.THX.?

BigBulldog 11-12-17 09:03 AM

Saturday November 11th @ 10:00 AM

McKinley and Lorain @ Benedictine

Anybody have results?

bengals wrestling 11-12-17 08:35 PM

I was back and forth between the wrestling room and the gym, but I do know that Lorain beat Benedictine by an aggregate of 7 points and Benedictine beat McKinley by an aggregate of 4. These were 3 x 10 minutes running clock. Yes, the tempo was upbeat.

I was there and saw McKinley won there first 3 quarters beating Lorain then Benedictine and Lorain again. They tied with Bennie second time then Lorain won by 1 point and Bennie won by two the next. Which I saw McKinley play other guys that didn't play as much early on in scrimmage. I thought McKinley was better then both of these teams Saturday but that means nothing was just a scrimmage which means 0 all teams just seeing what they have.

Anyone from Ashland on here can give us a view of your boys on the basketball team.

BigBulldog 11-17-17 06:58 PM

Raymo, tomorrow at the scrimmage try and find out if J'Von Johnson is still on the team?

He was our leading scorer returning this year besides starter Deontae McCollum.

Lets go Pups!
