Looks like we will start to see separation at the top in this district. It will be interesting to see how seeds 2-5 play out.

AAUHoopsOnly 01-17-18 10:17 AM

Lake is the only team with a pulse in this district....

farnsworth420 01-17-18 10:31 AM

I dont think they are walking away with a district title just yet. Anyone in the top 5-6 has a shot depending on the seeding. Since the coaches only get to vote on seeded and not place their team where they want, seeding is going to be very important.

farnsworth420 01-22-18 01:01 PM

does anyone have the updated records for this district?

Yappi 01-22-18 01:25 PM

I haven't finished all the Saturday scores yet. Just about half through, so there might be a few games missing...

Perry is now 3-11. Beat Louisville Saturday 1/20/18 in a makeup game.

Mackinbiner 01-22-18 01:43 PM

Of note is that the rematch between Jackson and Lake will be played AFTER the District seeding is completed.

I donít see Perry being the last seed. I would move them up. GlenOak above Massillon too.

I would like if Jackson got the 2 seed even with the head to head win over Lake just so they can come into the tournament as not the #1 seed and with a little chip on their shoulder

farnsworth420 02-07-18 11:48 AM

agreed on Perry. GO and Massillon are inner changeable and maybe Wooster and McKinley as well. I think Dover/Canfield are the wild cards here. either could be 5/6 or 8/9 maybe. will be interesting to see the final results. Basically who gets love from the Federal League....

That looks pretty good, I also think Perry should be moved up.

Spartan0505 02-08-18 11:47 AM

Boardman's record is 7-9 but they've lost twice on buzzer beaters and two other games in OT so the record is a little deceiving. They have some good shooters and athletes on the perimeter but absolutely no size inside.

farnsworth420 02-08-18 11:49 AM

Are they better than East and Fitch?

afwpatfire 02-08-18 01:05 PM

I could also see Jackson getting the #1 seed, beat Lake head to head and if Lake played their out of league schedule Lake would probably have a few more losses.

nd31 miami 30 02-10-18 12:59 PM

Wide open district w/ a lot average

I cannot remember a time when the Canton district was this bad. I don't think there is a single great team in this district. A few decent teams, no one great. Should make for a great tournament though.

SLAGuy 02-10-18 02:10 PM

This district will be a battle but the winner should enjoy cutting down the nets because that won't happen at the next level.

afwpatfire 02-10-18 10:44 PM

I’ll give seeding a shot. This isn’t a prediction, just how I think it should be seeded.

1. Jackson
2. Lake
3. McKinley
4. Wooster
5. Canfield
6. Dover
7. Barberton
8. Massillon
9. Perry
10. Glenoak
11. Fitch
12. Boardman
13. Youngstown East
14. Hoover

afwpatfire 02-10-18 11:39 PM

Just looked at the Regional brackets and the winner of this district plays the winner of the Barberton district. Could definitely see the winner of this district winning or giving a good game to whomever the winner of that district is.

Hayden Fox 02-11-18 02:36 PM

District Seeding has been released. Some very interesting matchups.

Jackson has the winner of GlenOak/Barberton at home. The other side of the bracket has some intriguing matchups with Lake/Dover & McKinley/Perry possibly.

Pretty much went how I thought it would. Thoughts?

afwpatfire 02-11-18 08:44 PM

Glenoak/Barberton should be interesting, with Greynolds and some former Glenoak players. Some of the other first round matchups may be interesting also, with the exception of McKinley/Hoover.

BHSspartans13 02-11-18 09:08 PM

For being the next to last seed, I think Boardman came away with a decent draw. Would rather play Wooster (or any non-Fed team) early on. They really haven't been blown out at all this season in any game (worst loss was 19 to Jackson) and if they figure things out I think they could make a bit of noise.

I think East has won 1 game in the last month. I know they lost by 20+ to Boardman last week and got blitzed by Lake last night. They started off the season on fire though including a 30 point win against Harding...

Youngstown basketball has been really dead even this year. Again, never as good as what goes on in Stark county, but most of the games have been very close. Lots of OT and single digit games.

Ts1960 02-11-18 11:19 PM

Jackson vs Massillon
Lake vs mckinley
The Tigers are so up and down they might lose to East.

farnsworth420 02-12-18 01:15 PM

A bit of a jump for Massillon up to #5. Per the seeding votes they were only 1 pt ahead of Canfield and 3 votes above Dover.

afwpatfire 02-17-18 08:49 PM

This district looks like it’s shaping up to be a 4 or possibly 5 team race. Jackson, Lake, McKinley, Wooster, and possibly Perry. Other teams may factor in, so we shall see. This district doesn’t have a clear cut winner and looks like it will be very competitive.

TheValleyMan 02-18-18 11:31 PM

Boardman, Fitch and East will all lose. Basketball in the Valley is really down. Poland, Mcdonald & Labrae are the only teams that have a chance of making some noise

Harding played their 1st 11 games without their best player. They're 8-1 since he's been in the lineup and overall, they've won 10 of their last 11 games. They could surprise in Solon.

As for Canton, this district seems wide open. You never know what you're gonna get from 15-18 year olds. Good luck to all!
