College Wrestlers transfering for the 2018-19 season

I'm trying to keep track of transfers for next year (focusing on Division 1). These are what I have so far (EMU wrestlers not included):

Kanen Storr - Iowa State -> Michigan (141-149)
Alex Mackall - Rutgers -> Iowa State (125)
Daniel Vega - Iowa State -> ???
Jonathan Marmoleji - Iowa State -> ???
Gavin DeWitt - Iowa State -> ???
Colston DiBlasi - Iowa State -> ???
Weston DiBlasi - Iowa State -> ???
Austin Desanto - Drexel -> ???
Justin Oliver - Central Michigan -> ???
Mason Smith - Central Michigan -> ???

Any that I'm missing? Also this thread can be used as a place to report other transfers or for when transfers announce their new commitments.

Danny left school last year and went home to Tucson. He has been coaching in a club and I have not heard anything about him returning to college. If he does I think it will be in the desert southwest somewhere.

Last I heard he's got a pretty serious girlfriend and might be on the path to marriage.

What happened at isu?
I know they got a new coach last yr but...wat?

Donkability 04-06-18 10:09 AM

6 guys getting out of iowa state thats odd, the emu kids should just go there!

Agreed. Isn't Carr on his way?

You seem pretty connected so I have seen on another forum that the lighter Valencia might look to transfer if his brother doesn't go up any truth to those rumors?

craftAmaniac 04-06-18 12:45 PM

I’ve heard from a good source Anthony Valencia strongly considering leaving ASU

johns_dad 04-06-18 01:27 PM

I'm more tied into the HS scene out there and have limited contacts into the ASU room. I do know the parents of a couple kids (5 actually) but have not heard anything about AV leaving.

Would seem strange since he's 3 years in (1 RS) and 1 year form graduating. I can't imagine the staff would want him out or to move up in weight since he'll score more points at 165.

Nothing else on the west coast except Fresno state and ASU is closer to his home. Now there could be other pressures but nothing of which I'm aware.

craftAmaniac 04-06-18 02:11 PM

I’m calling it now:Valencia will be a Gopher next season

wash.c.h.legend 04-06-18 03:11 PM

I have heard that he wants to be a buckeye

Anyone heard of Lou Rosselli? Oklahoma looking very comfortable for the above mentioned

Boro Fan 04-06-18 04:36 PM

From a few other forums, it sounds like DeSanto is leaning towards Rutgers.

Someone mentioned Rutgers in another thread, maybe you Boro? Anyway...I thought then, that Rutgers made sense. Pretty good choice, especially if being close to home is important.

roughedge 04-06-18 05:34 PM

Victor Marcelli was granted a release from his LOI..... I'm taking wild guess and I'll say going to Iowa State.

Not saying you're wrong but why would he go to the Big 10? Four guys 165 will beat him and more than that at 174. Doesn't make sense to me.

Boro Fan 04-06-18 06:17 PM

Colston DiBlasi is going to George Mason, not sure if Weston is following.

Hes not going 165 next year - part of the reason hes leaving

Going lower then?

craftAmaniac 04-06-18 07:59 PM

Higher

johns_dad 04-06-18 11:07 PM

Unless Zahid is moving up too I do not see him at 174. Even so the Big 10 does not suit him at all at either weight.

He's been whit his brother from the Monster Garage days it would be a really big deal for him to split from family. I mean his entire family is only 4 1/2 hours away.

It was not me, but I would love to see him anywhere but Penn St. Sounds like Suriano wants to move up to 33, so DeSanto would have to move to 141. If he doesn't want to move up a weight, then I think Iowa is the best option.

I don't think Iowa with Lee being there. Wheels are turning at Penn ST.

Penn State seems crowded at 25 and 33. They have Teasdale, Bravo-Young and Busiello coming in. At 141, Lee was only a freshman, so I'm not sure 141 would be an option at PSU (Not saying DeSanto can't beat Lee)

I saw that Colston was going to George Mason, and asked someone on twitter that reported it if Weston was following, they said Weston is leaning toward Missouri.

If Desanto goes to Rutgers, and both he and Suriano both bump, does Ashnault (who did get a 6th year) follow suit and go 149?

Where did you see that?

Heard Ashnault is going 49 regardless of DeSanto coming.

eucwrestler 04-12-18 07:05 AM

Christian Colucci (285) transferring from Lehigh to Rutgers.
Kayne MacCallum (184) transferring from Eastern Michingan to Oklahoma.

Wrestling1 04-12-18 07:24 AM

If Desanto goes to Rutgers they will be a very solid team next year that I'm excited to watch! Suriano, Desanto, and Ashnault to open up 3 of the first 4 weight classes in a dual!? Sign me up to see that! Big Ten just keeps getting tougher.
