Winton Woods vs LaSalle

Begin.

WW seems to be playing like the best D2 team in the state right now. Their play has been onanother level since they beat LaSalle in a close one in the regular season. Hoping for a great game but WW is probably just the better team.

I think Anderson may have partially exposed a weak link in the Warriors defense. Ww looked vulnerable on the deep pass at time last night. They remind me a lot of tOSU’s defense, if the front 7 doesnt’t get pressure, it leaves the DBs to get exposed. But the front 7 has been so dominate most of the time, which tends to cover up the DB play. With that being said, WW looks like a total different team than 5 weeks ago and right now I would say WW by 2 scores. Let’s just hope the Lancers don’t get blown off the field and have a chance in the 4th.

Coach Parker is doing a job with this squad. This team isn't anywhere near the same team that beat LaSalle earlier this season. We didn't have all our bodies back. OT Lowry, DE Poole, DE Booker are all back and playing incredible. We turned up after the embarrassing Elder debacle. I was really embarrassed to had lost that game to them and I think Parker used it to get their attention. In the first LaSalle game Warrior supporters walked away thinking and saying that we left a ton of opportunity on the field. I came away thinking 24-7 should had been the final.

Winton Woods probably was tired from scoring 52 points in the first half and fell asleep.

Yeah but that is what WW does as a team. Even you said it yourself all year by them playing down to their competition. Its week 13 now, can you finish and play disciplined. My guess is not after the the showing in the first game. Just not disciplined, that is the WW MO.

Through the year, the secondary has played very well. I can't wait to see the match up between Oats and the big Lasalle receiver.

We've seen the Oates/Whiley matchup. The LaSalle QB will be running for his life. The WW dline has shown more improvement than any other position group. The addition of Poole and Tank, BJ only playing defense, the experience that Kai got while Tank and Poole was out and the emergence of #34 into the dline rotation plus the best nose tackle in the state.

I like the Woods by 14.

mrsimp06 11-11-17 12:38 PM

brian1227 11-11-17 01:09 PM

It's getting better. Sidney's defense made it look pretty good last night.

I thought a stadium needed to have seating on 2 sides? Iím confused...

HTFF 11-11-17 01:49 PM

LaSalle squeaks by. WW penalties will haunt. Can't make mistakes this late in the season

cincifbfan 11-11-17 01:50 PM

Never heard that it needs two sides, but Withrow holds around 8000, shame it hasn't been full in forever..... Should be a great atmosphere. Get there early, parking sucks, but big neighborhood behind school.

brian1227 11-11-17 02:01 PM

They only have seats on 1 side?

cincifbfan 11-11-17 02:10 PM

Technically yes, but it's a huge horseshoe shape. Starts at 1 goal line and wraps all the way around opposite end zone. Seating capacity will not be an issue whatsoever. It's a beautiful facility with beautiful school in background.

wrestlingdad3 11-11-17 02:41 PM

Think the Woods offense has gotten any better? They didnt do to much more than the LaSalle offense. Scored 18 pts total which isn't to impressive. Heck 5 of those points were scored on a safety and a field goal when LaSalle fumbled inside their own 10 and held the Woods to a FG. Not exactly sure why the peckers are so confident. Sounds like both offenses need to improve because both defenses are pretty damn good. Which ever offense can make adjustments and not turn the ball over will win. Good old fashion clobber knocker. Speed on speed. Lancers 16 Wood peckers 14.

rip_JackTatum 11-11-17 02:51 PM

Jacks observation

Having my first opportunity to view Winton Woods one of the things that stood out to me is the Woods defenders HIT ! Not just tackle but HIT through ball carriers. Jack TATUM would be proud.

Why wouldn't they be confident

wideout4life 11-11-17 03:03 PM

Had a touchdown called back and fumbled in the red zone and gave up a touchdown late score should have been worst than it was but enough talking this is what everyone wanted and it's here

wrestlingdad3 11-11-17 03:17 PM

Same things could be said for LaSalle who just defeated a team you lost to. I am actually glad LaSalle lost the first meeting. Both teams had opportunities in game 1 and the refs were somewhat of a factor too. Bull crap pass interference call and them not calling defensive holding on the receivers. Different set of stripes and the Game could go different. Bottom line the game is a toss up but you go ahead and be confident and talk. The big game battle tested Lancers will be ready to face a very tough opponent. This time however the Lancers will find a way to win.

This site says it seats 6,000. It looks like they were a consultant or architect for a renovation.

If thatís the case, I️ think there could absolutely be seating issues.

8000 according to Withrow, there won't be capacity issues.
