This is just too tough to do. I know how teams finished last year, but trying to evaluate who has players coming back and who graduated the most important parts is hard enough to do locally, but really tough statewide.

StarstoShine 05-29-18 03:32 AM

Eagle fan picks in D7 looks solid.

RollingTrain 05-29-18 02:33 PM

You’ll find out what Tiffin Calvert has pretty quick - they play Danville in week 2 and Norwalk St.Paul in week 3. They do return 1st-wan All Ohio RB Austin Jones.

StarstoShine 05-29-18 10:25 PM

Calvert Coach Steve Reser (former Gibsonsburg) will lead the Senecas in 2018.

i would put Fort Loramie in there somewhere

Mccomb has three all Ohio players coming back and a lot of returning starters. They might be better than people think.

I will slide them right in there at 3, and pull Sidney Lehman out, didn't Lehman graduate their QB or is this his senior year?

are the Cherry boys playing at Toledo?

ReadyKnightsFan 06-11-18 02:19 PM

Anything less than 9-1 for Fort Loramie should be disappointing. If you want to run with the big horses you cannot lose to schools in the CCC.

Trimble will be the favorite in Region 27 the next 2 years. They have a loaded junior class. They went to week 12 last year. Also have another good group behind them

Love this.
I remember when Coach Reser was the ball boy at Calvert games when Terry Mark was HC.
Lol.
Good luck coach and as always will root for then Senecas from afar.

Convoy Crestview should be top 2. They were the only team capable of beating Minster....and nearly did just that. Minster coach said Crestview was the best team they faced all tournament.

I would put Minster at 1 and Convoy Crestview at 2.

Crestview is absolutely loaded.

Minster's 1st game of the year with Fort Loramie may determine whether they make the play-offs. Could see as many 5 losses in league play for Minster this season. Dark horse candidate to make the play-offs is New Bremen( will be much improved over previous seasons ). Plus New Bremen I believe does not play either ML or CW.

Anna, Fort Recovery, St Henry, Coldwater, DSJ, and Minster are all on the schedule for New Bremen. Might be a tough go at things. If they can steal a couple of those AND the Ben Logan game then we can look at them.

If Fort Loramie somehow pulls the upset on Minster (unlikely) I think you're looking at a 10-0 record. Minster is obviously the standard bearer in this division.

What did Crestview lose from last season? Their schedule doesn't look to really challenge them much.

You are correct NB does play CW. Minster more than likely needs to go undefeated in non-league play or will have a tough time making the play-offs. The last 2 seasons Minster has lost 4 games in the MAC each year. Plus Minsters offense is heavily predicated on their QB and Minster will be breaking in a new QB this season. Covington who Minster plays the 2nd game of the year should be much improved this season, could be another team to look out for. Personally I will go with Cuyahoga Heights to win D-7.

StateChampion2012 06-12-18 05:45 PM

At this point I'd say Crestview is my preseason state champion pick but they play games for a reason. I really believe that New Bremen will make the playoffs as well and their schedule will more than prepare them for D7. Should make for an exciting year.

have Kline coming back at QB( STUD).... how many starters do they have coming back?

Rangerfan 06-13-18 07:15 AM

Crestview graduated 9 of their 37 players, but I seem to recall the key starters are all back, including much of their line.

They lost a lot to graduation, last year was their year to win it. They are well coached so they will be tough but they won't win it all.

bmcphers7 06-13-18 12:51 PM

Windham could be a surprise team, but with them it comes back to their schedule. No real big challenges should go undefeated

I thought they had alot of players graduate, did any of those boys move on to the next level to play College ball?

yipyap 06-13-18 06:01 PM

What about Harvest Prep?

Drummond is at Eastern Michigan and the big RB/LB went to Duquesne. Not sure about anyone else.

Porsche 06-14-18 04:53 AM

Convoy Crestview returns every impact player except one receiver. They also bring in some young players.
They return Drew Kline.

Crestview returns all of their lineman. They had Minster down til the last mintue of that game in tournament and then Minster scored...and then Crestview marched the whole way down the field and was throwing into the end zone to win it.

Who knows with the unforeseen injuries that happen during the season but Crestview has all the pieces of a state championship in Football and possibly boys basketball.

I believe Crestview lost key players on all three levels of their defense and a couple of offensive linemen. That said, they do have Kline and Sheets returning. Two studs on both sides of the ball. They should be a formidable opponent in the D VII landscape.
