1. University - since StF isn't there, not sure anyone can match their top 2
2. StX - always tough has won the last 9 or 10 Big 8s
3. Centerville - first meet with their club swimmers, generally swim fast in December
4. UA - impressive Ned Reeb (but not scoring 20 places here)
5. SC - good depth, lacking the top placers
6. Wyoming - not a strong as last year
7. Firestone - Bartley & ?
8. Mason - probably shouldn't be in the meet
UA will finish probably finish first but no worse than second!

University School could be first or second in every event. If you look at the current Ohio rankings, (without St. Francis, since Northwest is not posted yet) and some results from the Makos USA meet, here is some idea of how they could stack up.
50 free: Malone (US) 21.20, Gregory (C) 21.97, Rabe (UA) 22.31
100 free: Mitchell (C) 47.93, Stack (US) 48.70, Neri (UA) 49.07
200free: Osterage (C) 1:41, Gaudiani (US) 1:43, Long (UA) 1:45
500 free: Osterage (C) 4.39, Gaudiani (US) 4:37, Long (UA) 4:48
back: Crane (US) 51.81, Stang (US) 52.67, Mitchell (C) 53.56
breast: Malone (US) 56.80, Brower (St. X) 59.99, Rabe (UA) 1:02.01
fly: Stack (US) 52.20, Gregory (C) 52.85, Johnson (St. X) 53.88
IM: Crane (US) 1:53, Rabe (UA) 2:00, Wooley (St. X) 2:00
200 MR: US 1:35, UA 1:38, St. X 1:39
200FR: US 1:28, UA 1:28, St X 1:29
400FR: US 3:10, UA 3:17
I might suggest: 1. US, 2. Centerville and 3. UA

Wow, that makes X 4th. That would be quite a drop for X. This meet may come down to how the teams set up their A & B relays. Spreading the talent may score more points in the relays by lowering the A relay a place or 2 and raising the B relay's finish significantly. The final standings may be determined by how the coaches set their lineups...and there Jim Brower is the master!

I would not expect the club swimmers to be quite as fast as their times at makos. A lot of the clubs taper and use competition suits at makos. So some should still have a bit of taper left, a week after their taper meet, but I don't know if those guys would be expected to match those times. Meanwhile, those times for University swimmers are probably their normal in-season times. It will be interesting to see how much Osterhage has left in the tank.

Most of those times from swimmeet.com were from Ned Reed and almost all of the guys there were capped and suited. Just a snapshot in time, lots of variables.

So...what happened rjones?
University School 460, Cincinnati St. Xavier 411, Centerville 375, Upper Arlington 287, St. Charles 209.
Kidding aside, looks like it was a competitive meet. Impressive showing by Centerville. They may displace UA as the number 3 team in the state. Congratulations to all the teams...hopefully full results will be posted on swimmeet.com.

Should have added D1 qualifier. University clearly is one of the top teams in the state.

Anyone seen complete results from the Big 8 posted anywhere? Thus far they aren't on swimmeet.com which seems a bit unusual.
After the Big 8, the top four would seem to be University, St Francis, St X, Centerville. What big meet will St Francis full squad be at next?
St. Francis swims against St. Xavier and University at St. Francis on 12/28.
