Lets start a disscusion for the fans of Spartan football.
Questions:
1. Will Springfield improve over its 6-4 record?
2. Any potential college recruits in the senior class?
3. Does anyone else see the effect that the Varsity football teams success has on this community?
4. Springfield football percentage wise only gets around %15 or less of the boys per grade out for football. How can this be increased to the likes of some of our neighbors like Mogadore who is around %50 per grade?
Lets here from you on these questions.

The numbers I thought last night were freekin crazy for the Spartans. Did you get a count? Did woodziz show up? I know Todd is on Vaca.
I see a couple of lineman who can see some colleges and Chase has a chance if the grades are good.
I dont believe we would of had a turnout at the alumni game like we did if Springfield didnt have that 6-4 last year. Last year the BAND parents stayed to watch the game after halftime.... thats far out there.
Record 8-2 the two losses will be a toss up. Ravenna and Northwest.

yes polster nice turn out for first day of camp 49 kids with 4+ kids known out on vacation and things like that. If they can start the season with numbers in the 50-60 range it will be the largest team in Springfield in over 10 years. For most area small D2/ big D3 teams 50-60 kids in normal for the Spartans it shows things are moving in the right direction again our numbers have been bad for quite a long time. The freshman boys will be the first group of kids who played in the youth blackstripe league for those of you who like to keep track of things like that, IMHO I think we still need more kids from each grade stepping up to play but we are now seeing numbers increase which is a start and I give credit to the HS staff they are active and the kids seem to love these guys. A more sustained numbers increase will be achevied thru the HS winning and the youth programs switch to the no weight limit league.

Tru that 71.... The sophomore class this year was from the wack shack screwing up the numbers. I wonder where all those west side kids are playing now. That resistance from the wack hurt the sophomore numbers. Awesome job!

I drove by the school last night and saw the conditioning. Were there kids inside or are the numbers down from what was expected?

You been gone 2 weeks and already teeing off on us.:stirthepot: Coming from Lake over to Springfield will have to take some adjustments. Numbers are actually up about 15-20. Plus we have 2 freshman moving in from outa state. One showed up late with his mom looking like a Reggie Bush body double. If this kid plays as well as he looks..... you get the picture.. They had about 20 kids behind the bleachers hitting the sleds last night when you drove by prolly. Only depth problem I see is at the corners. Anyways I counted 52 last night. 2 have dropped off so far.

I was wondering. I thought they may have had the big boys in lifting or something. They all looked like backs and corners that were on the field. Hitting the sleds would make sense. And shut the ---- up Polster about Lake. By the way, they are working him hard as a quarterback. Go figure.

18-0 Varsity won
13-7 JV won
vs.
Tallmadge
We have a bye this Saturday and then we have a tough game at Hudson the following Saturday.
1. No (4-6)
2. Maybe D-3
3. IDK
4. Is athletics a priority? Your school doesn't seem to have much success in any sport does it? New building should help.
