I have been looking at some college results, finding a couple surprises. Here are some top times I have found from the SW Ohio district, class of 2009:
50 free/100 fly: Schnur, Ohio State, 20.30. Faster than his best high school time. He also has posted a 50.66 fly!
100 free: Sanders, UK, 45.78. (also a 21.09 50)
200 free: Lawley, Princeton 1:41.74 (also a 21.20 50)
500 free: Columbus, South Carolina, 4:36.63
IM: Glaser-Garbrick, Carnegie Mellon, 1:55.85
Back: Abeysinghe, Clemson, 52.01/1:51.40
Breast: Kincaid, Ohio State, 57.88
From the "where are they now" file:
Buchanan, swam two meets for Purdue in October and nothing since. Now he no longer shows on their roster.
Krone, is listed on the East Carolina roster, but has not swam in any meets.
Any news on what happened with these two?

I have no idea. It looks like his last meet was in November against Kenyon when he swam exhibition.
Miami has had a difficult season. They came in last at their own invite in December, except for Milwaukee who only brought divers. They have only out-swam one team this year, even though their dual record is 3-6-1. If you take out diving results from Kenyon (Kenyon brought no divers so Miami outscored them 32-0 in that meet), Cincinnati, and Evansville, that would leave only one team where they scored more points in swim events: Xavier. But you do have to admit Miami has good divers.

I feel like Miami isn't known for having a great mens swim team, their womans team is very talented though.

Morning prelims for the Big Ten conf meet for today are done:

Fahrbach qualified 4th with a time of 19.87. Willets was 28th in 20.71. It looks like neither Schnur nor Huffman made their team's conference squad. It seems Schnur has not swam since his 20.3 in December. That is a shame, since he would have been seeded sixth in prelims with that time.

I've noticed some added time by some... How is that? But it also looks like Willets and Lawley have dropped substantial amounts of time

It would be easy to use the lack of the tech suits as an excuse for adding time this season. I am sure there are other factors as well. But like I posted in the other thread, 5 of 6 guys in the 500 prelims added time compared to last season at the state meet, so it is not just the switch to college life. It seems like more than half the freshmen in college added time. Huffman was about a half second slower in both the 50 and 100 free. Columbus was about five seconds slower in his 500. If you look at the seven seniors in the IM final last season:
.............2009...2010
Albers.....1:51.62 1:54.57 up
Abeysinghe.1:52.49 1:52.05 down
Schwartz...1:53.22 2:01.37 up
Mai........1:53.01 1:52.28 down
Kincaid....1:53.86 1:54.17 up
Pierson....1:55.63 1:53.23 down
Koch.......1:54.24 1:56.87 up
there were more time adds than drops. I found Pierson results from Maryland, which is faster than Kincaid. It is interesting to note that all three IM'rs that went to Ohio State did not go as fast as last season. Since their taper meet was not the Big 10 conference meet (it was probably either a December invite or a March last chance meet), I'm guessing it was not as motivating as the district/state meet last year.
