Spirit Warriors Basketball 2010
The Spirit Warriors (TSW) is a spring/summer select basketball program for boys currently in 7th grade through 12th grade. TSW has been in operation since 1992, has competed in many National Championships and has had dozens of former players go on to play college basketball. TSW provides opportunities for boys to play highly competitive basketball in a spring league and in spring and summer tournaments. In past years TSW teams have competed at AAU, YBOA, & USSSA Nationals and college showcase tournaments such as The Run & Slam, The Big Time and The Main Event in Las Vegas, Eddie Ford’s Hoopfest and The Hoosier Shootout.
You start with try-outs in early March. If selected you would be placed on a team that will play in The Spirit Warriors Spring League. The NCAA league teams consist of mostly 7th& 8th graders with some 9th graders. The NBA League teams consist of 10th,11th & 12th graders with some 9th graders. 9th graders can play in either league.
TSW Spring League begins in early April and lasts through early June (18-20 games). The league games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at The Sharonville Recreation Center. Practice will be on either Monday or Wednesday. The cost to be on a team is $285.00 that covers games, practices, a jersey, insurance etc…
All-Star teams will be selected for week-end tournaments, not all league players are asked to play in tournaments. Tournaments are separate from the league.
Most years we play two local tournaments in April and two in May. Then we decide as a team if we want to go to the super select national tournaments in June and July.
You do not have to play in tournaments to play in the league. Local tournaments cost $35-40 per player for each tournament, National tournaments are $50-70 per player.
Ted Creamer is the founder/director-head coach of TSW. Coach Creamer coaches all of the teams with the help of several of his former players. Coach Creamer has been a coach for over 25 years and has coached youth, jr.high, high school and college basketball and is the Head Coach at Southern State College in Hillsboro, Ohio. Coach Creamer has coached camps for Bob Knight, Roy Williams, Coach K., Bob Huggins, Mike Brey, Lorenzo Romar and many others. Coach Creamer is an evangelical Christian and has worked camps for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athletes In Action and Focus on the Family Basketball Camps since 1985. Schools such as OSU, UC, X., Miami, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Texas Tech, Akron and a host of others have had Coach Creamer’s players on their rosters. Over 100 high schools have had players on Spirit Warriors rosters. The epicenter of where most players come from would be the Kings Island area. We need 120 boys for 6 teams in each division to fill TSW Spring League so please make copies of this flyer and pass them out to your friends.
Call me if you’re interested in playing and for try-out information.
