Anybody know of any kids leaving or coming back to play football next year. I believe there isnt any excuse for kids leaving besides the schools looking a little shabby. Besides you dont have to pack heat when you enter our school district.

Not a fair question polster. Especially if you want honest answers right now. Still a lot of unknowns that have to be answered in the next couple of months. Like where the sports programs are headed. But its not all about sports right now out here. There are other issues that are in the hands of the people.

Levy has passed by 66% .
And I also heard we are dropping Waterloo and picked up Northwest for a one year contract. Things are going great so far....

better check with the coaches of Northwest because the athletic programs could be dropped. There are rumblings about Coach Vic going somewhere else to be hc.

Northwest sports will start to suffer very soon but not by next year... It will be tough for the Spartans no matter who is coaching the Indians next season.

Polster,
I thought you were running for school board? You know every board needs someone with "REAL WORLD" experience.

They decided to have two lunch ladys and stay at home mom that never had a job and two dept. store clerks to handle the 20 million dollar budget. Why ad a felon to the mix?

sounds like a felon would have been the missing ingredient for this cake...

Alright Polster I have an answer for you. My son will be back for HS. After much discussion and arguing the decision was made. His loyalty to SHS can not be broken. He is determined to make his name at Springfield and no where else. When all was said and done, I couldnt argue with that logic and loyalty. Somethings I can not teach him and I didnt want to change that part of him.

He didn't have that decision this year, but I am not going to keep fighting with him. That's where I went and where he will have to try at least a year there.

SSpartans,
I went through the same thing when I was in HS. I begged my parents to allow me to return to Tallmadge after my freshman year. They would not allow it. I understand why now and am glad they kept me where I was. Everyone is different and has their reasons for where they go. Keep the "big picture" in mind at all times. HS kids don't always do that. They look at how things are now, and if everything isnt going their way, they look for an escape route. Sometimes, parents do know what they are talking about. :)
Whatever decision is made, I'm sure it will work out for you, your son and your family. If your boy needs someone other than his father to talk to, let him know I'm available. He's a great kid and I want whats best for him, just as you do.

Does that mean Springfield or Hoban next year?

I just hope people start looking at Springfield for more than just the cover. I believe schools will be built, the enrollment will go up, not just do to athletics but education. Springfield residents have spoken. The vote was cast, and the people do agree. We need to take care of the future of the kids.
If a parent believes with a private school they are better, they should give the child every opportunity. I know I would do the same.

They need to pass a new levy or bond issue.. Springfields reputation has taken a hit this past decade but people (everyone I talk to) really seem to be pulling for the district to get it turned around and it seems to be happening. New school buildings could set the enrollment off like a bomb.. Kids would flock to SHS.. Something about Springfield kind of has a swagger to it... always has and I cant explain that... maybe I'm dillusional...
What other school has the coolest mascot: a "Spartan"
, but yet most of the players prefer to "break it out" with a loud arrse
"SWAP RATS!!!" I love the kids from Springfield!! They are hard nosed.
