2009 State Division 1 tournament teams

Congrats to St. Igs, Lake, Medina, and Stow on making it out of the NE district at Pine Hills today.

Scores were:
St.Ign. = 310
Lake = 313
Medina = 316
Stow = 317 (won on a 5th score tie breaker)

4 Individuals were:

Boo Timko from Canfield (72)
Ryan Headley- Marlington (73)
John Clark - Jackson (75)
10th grader from CHardin (76) beat out 2 other players on a playoff hole.

Anyone know some of the other teams that will be there next weekend.

Medalist and individual state qualifier: Phillips (M) 70. Other top scores: Jones (D) 71, Ricaurte (S) 75. Individual state qualifiers: Weisenstein (W) 77, Kaido (Tri-Valley) 77.

The 12 teams competing for the State title next weekend:

-Toledo St. John's and Anthony Wayne
-Cleveland St. Ignatius, Lake, Medina, Stow
-St. Xavier, Moeller, Centerville
-St. Charles, Dublin Jerome, Dublin Coffman

Moeller makes it for the 8th straight season, X for the 6th straight year and Jerome hasn't missed since moving to DI.

I think Ignatius is the slight favorite but I think there are 5 teams in the running this year. Ignatius, Jerome, St. Charles, Moeller, and X. Any of those teams could walk away with the team title.

:shrug: I don't understand isn't the same St X team that beat them at districts in the state tournament? Also, who's Colin Stelljes (St X), he took second individually somewhat behind Korey Ward of Lakota West....

Rumor has it Andrew "SilkySmooth" Dorn has been on 30+ visits over the summer and fall. He had an unfortunate shoulder injury in a Rec Basketball game last winter but seems to have made a fully recovery. I recently read that his top 5 schools are...Xavier, Florida, Harvard, Ole Miss and Compton Community College (for the chance to be close to his family in Compton)
