RB's seem to be running with thier heads down staring at the ground waiting to get hit instead of looking down field for thier next cut (vision)... this applies to the runs i saw between the tackles not the sweeps some holes were there and they were one cut away from turning a 6 yard gain into a 15-20 yard gain.. this group of kids are and have been slow starters on offense it took them a while last year to get the offense moving on a regular basis.. they are creatures of habit reps, reps, reps, will make the offense better... coaches will get them there...
now the defense is the forte for this particular class they swarm and make plays when in the proper positions to do so... discipline (penalties, mental breakdowns) becomes an issue at times but thier athletism often makes up for that.. its something they will need to fix before HS lots of penalties by the defense and most were just plain mental mistakes drives coaches crazy!! focus grasshopper.... if they clean things up they could/should win the confrence but they must play better than they did against a field team that was medicore at best....JMO

15 yrs ago it was blocking...i was a decent runner and did ok but the same guys blocked for me in jr high did so in high school....they had no idea what they were doing in 7th and 8th. by 11th they were animals who understood the game.

enter blackstripe league into Springfield and a 4 year headstart for your really big kids that could not play in a weight restricted league and thus could not block when in 7th and 8th as it was for you... give it 5 years and we should start to see the true benefits.. will we dominate??? no, but we can remain competitive year in and out and when we get a gifted team we will be able to win at the state playoff level not just our conference level because our big O/D linemen will be experianced football players and not just larger athletes.. still tryring to learn the game... the kids will help on HS varsity earlier than before pushing upper classmen and raising the level of play at practice in the weightroom and on game night.. good right??
