if they have a qb step up and lead that can help put points on the board and not turn the ball over they could see a decent season.. i look for C.C to have his break out year as a WR/DE and D.M. to show up big time on the PTC radar at TB and Z.T. will add that physical smashmouth element at FB/LB... the Oline play will be better than in the recent past and with the additions of some new talented upperclassmen and the nice sophmore class they have my hopes are high but realistic... next year will be a totally different story... they should be in the hunt.
Defensively this season they will be hurting against the big 3 in the PTC, Ellet and Cloverleaf.. Coach Vaughn will have them in position to make plays and the rest is up to them.. Good Luck Spartans you have worked hard this offseason and Its time to bring back some wins..

I would love to see the Spartans get a few wins, but wouldn't 2-8 be a successful season after the last 4 years? The kids want 1 victory and to move along from there, I am sure.

I hope this years team realizes that they can make a huge impact on the direction this football program is going. Play hard never give up even in the 4th quarter down 5 td's, play with passion. I did not know you were doing our game.. i would have introduced myself.. I am the Def Coord. for the B squad... I think I met you last year I ran the defense for the A squad and Irish was HC.. next time you do one of our games I will introduce myself..

how about this KV has them beating teams they should and in the games that nobody would have given them a chance to win at the beginning of the season... instead of losing to teams they were similar to talent wise by 4 td's like in the past...
KV is solid as HC and his staff is getting better every week.. not to mention they (players) are very young and other than the bassically non existant freshman class more good players are on the way..

Question: with the recent success and projected success in the future will we be getting some of the great freshman players who left back from the privates?? If they were to get some of these players back in Springfield what would the next 3 years look like?? I know would of could of but I do not think this is out of the realm of possibility that some of the ex-Spartans return to play for KV and not just from the freshman level.

The next three years looks great. Most of the defense is sophomore , and OL is all returning for next year, and a slew of receivers will be back. . One position ....... QB...... is the biggest concern. KV is like the Pittsburgh Steelers front office:) They may not have the names but know how to draft and insert the missing pieces.

Not to make your head swell, but I can see little ZM playing Friday night. Thats if he came back to this side of the swamp.

Nice season for all the youth teams (all playoff bound!) and MS team.
not to mention the pride and hope the HS team has given everyone in the community... We have already hit the bottom and seem to be rising back up faster than anyone would have expected.. I still believe our numbers need to increase at all levels to sustain our competitiveness.. We are blessed to have the talent we have on the HS team with the low numbers we have there..
