Lifting and Conditioning has already started at the High School on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
As far as official practices are concerned, nothing has been announced yet. You will need to contact Kevin Vaughn at the High School, but I would strongly recommend your son attend the HS for its Lifting and Conditioning Sessions.

FYI-
I spoke with the HS Coach last night, and they are putting something together as we speak. He also stressed, that the 8th graders continue to work out with the High School players during the summer. We also discussed the M.S. Players attending the H. S. Football Camp on July 31st at the H.S.

Will the M.S. games be played at the High School? Also, what is the condition of the Unis and Equipment at the M.S.? There are a lot of opportunities for Fundraisers, if needed. Let me know if you need info.
Also, once a schedule is released, I would love to to see it. Gots to schedule my vacation days and dust off my tailgating supplies. :)

Spartans look like they needed diapers at first. Or it was the jitters. Or that feeling right before you rob someone. I don't know, but after they all got changed it was looking good. !st D looked good and shut them down nice. We sure miss Zach being there. They did some really nice dances on the sidelines after a couple of cheep shots on the smaller kids, kinda reminds me of the ole willbeth home project days. Got to love it. Now I remember why I moved my family to Springfield.

Nice polster thats what i heard.. We are back to loving life out here in Blue Streak Country but will always love the Spartans and the coaches that taught Zach how to play the game properly and with some great players and friends that he will miss but I know in my heart that group of kids will help turn the Spartans around in the future.. We were all smiles when we heard you guys played well after the jitters were gone..

Polster,
how bout that shot our DB took on the other side of the field?
I didn't think the kid was getting up. He got "jacked up"!
Props for taking it on the chin and getting back in the game.

Scrimmage today at Noon, vs Ellet, at Springfield High School.
Irish87
08-19-09, 01:10 PM
Just returned from the scrimmage.
1st string:
Ellet scored once and Springfield drove to one yard line, but couldn't punch it in. Ellet had a long 60 yard TD in which the RB beat Springfields DB and outran everybody to the endzone. Springfield looked rusty again on their first series but improved as the day went on. Springfield marched the ball down the field during 1st and ten and got to the one. At the one, they had a motion penalty that backed them up, then couldn't gain a yard after that.
Springfields D looked impressive except for the one big play. The Offense looks to need more work, but I am confident they will improve and become the consistent, chain moving O, that most of us all know.
2nd string looked like a whole nother story. Before I could get to my car, Ellet had scored twice.

2nd string? How many kids do you have this year? I thought you guys were having troubles with numbers.

Not at the MS. Currently there are 27 Football Players. After we only had 9 seventh graders come out for Youth, they were sent to the MS to join the
8th graders.
Our current 7th grade and Freshman Class numbers are way down. Other than that, 8th graders are good, we have 43, 5th and 6th graders, 46 3rd and 4th graders, 18 second graders and 22 Flag players.

I know Tyler would of stopped that play , but if he was to get hurt again playing corner or safety that would leave the offense in more shambles. Once Larry gets his head out of his azz he will be down at line again giving him more time.

I am not one to second guess Coaching. At least not publicly. :)
They will do a fine job at leading this team.
Now, speaking as a father: this is my second go round with a son at QB. :wallbang: Shoulda learned after the first one. Anywho, I highly doubt my son will be a QB at the next level. Doesn't have the size nor arm strength(yet) and not sure he will. IMO, he will end up excelling as a DB or Safety. I fear him losing the experience and pt at these two positions and that will set him behind a little. He loves Defense, almost as much as he loves running the ball on O. I was hoping he could use this year to get better because at the MS level, he'll prolly see a bit more passing than Youth. Hopefully, they can use him every now and again to help shore up the Secondary in certain situations. No matter where he plays, he will give you 110% and knows, this Town needs a winner and this group has the potential to do something special.
